Any Angel Fans Out There?

This is your moment Angel fans. Congradulations on a fantastic season and a hard fought world series. I can't wait to see what type of Walt Disney World commercial Disney will air today in repsonse to the victory. The sad part is that Eisner may very well go ahead with the sale of this team anyway so as to capitalize on the increased value of their new found success. None-the-less, whatever the outcome, this team was a genuine pleasure to watch. Bravo.

Ya know,before the World Series, if you had offered me $100.00 to name one Angels player,you would have kept your money. Who are these guys ? I'd like to know what the Angels payroll is. Back when Gene was alive,he tried buying a WS's by playing Steinbrenner's game but he only got the huge payroll and no titles.

I have been an Angel fan since I was born and lived not far from Anaheim. My dad took us to games each year and I can remember years of heartache and disappointment. This team has been amazing all year and deserve the title. Always hustling, no egos or team disputes. I felt excited to bring my son to his first MLB game when we took him to see the Angels when they were in Texas to play the Rangers. We all wore our Angels gear, got autographs, and last night's winning pitcher John Lackey threw my son a ball as they were heading in after pre-game warm-ups.
I wish I could have been anywhere near the stadium or Disneyland last night. But I am a loud and proud Angels fan here in Texas.

Congratulations to the Angels and best wishes to all their fans - they deserve it.

The only thing I didn't like was the post-game ESPN interview with Ei$ner when the correspondent referred to Ei$ner as the "Owner" of the team.

I couldn't see that he was wearing a Mickey Mouse T-shirt when I was at the
game but I did see it on the news when I got home. I think that him wearing that
shirt sent a statement to the shareholders and more importantly, the board or
directors who have given him a year to turn things around. I think that that was
a direct attempt by Eisner to show everyone that he's on the mouse's team and
MAYBE it signals that he might be wanting to align himself with the themepark
division of the company a little more. You didn't see him wearing an ABC shirt or a
Fox Family baseball cap or even an Angels/Mighty Ducks shirt. MAYBE this means
that he is starting to figure what division of Disney may pull them out of this
downward spiral, the themeparks, and save his job.

Just my two cents.

P.S. Or he could have spilled coffee on his Miramax shirt and he pulled the MIckey
shirt off his car seat!

Having all of these home post-season games should boost the coffers a bit in Disney's fiscal 1st quarter (Oct-Dec).

I wouldn't read too much into the Mickey Mouse shirt. Corporate symbol and all...

Anyone know if there was any siginfigance to Eisner hanging out with John Travolta?

Other than the occasional "high profile" game, like this Sunday against the whiners, uh, niners, no, there won't be very many sellouts. The PSL "surcharge" being added to even single game tickets, coupled with Big Al's shenanigans means the general public views the Raiders as an over-priced product with no commitment to the area.

Not a good combination...

Of course, we won't talk about the Giants' attendance at the old Candlestick a few years ago... Not a problem anymore, now that the "wire-rimmed glasses crowd" finds Pacbell to be "chic".
