I know I know, the TB is getting flooded with advice threads and I'm really really sorry for making another one. Won't happen again from me, promise ;)

Well, I'm in a predicament on the last day of school. Well, my school is literally 2 blocks away from the boardwalk and beach. So, everyone takes the bus to school, but go to the beach instead (it's a tradition, nobody gets marked absent)

Well, lets see. Some of my friends don't really like some of my other friends. (yes, it's middle school-ish, I know.) And lets make them into groups here so it's easier to explain without naming names. Group 1 and Group 2.

I've made plans to go with group 1 to go out to breakfast & the beach since..the end of may.

And i have this horrible, horrible habit of being unable to say no to people (unless it's like to drugs...but yeah.) and A friend of mine from group 2 also asked me to go with her on the last day of school. Both groups are going different places. And I really really didn't want to hurt her feelings and say no, and I really didn't want to make my friends in group 1 angry by ditching them. I didn't say 'yes' exactly, I just said stuff to her like "omg that sounds like fun!' which kind of implied a yes, but never actually said it. (to group 2)

And I love both groups so much, they have made this school year amazing for me. I'd really hate to like, ditch someone, say no, or basically ruin someone's last day of school. I've thought about staying home on the last day of school to solve this, but... I kinda want to go :\

What do you think I should do?

tell your friend "hey, sorry, but i've told so and so that i'll be hanging with them that day. how about me and you do something that afternoon?"

haha yea. xD lol that makes sense.
they both want to go out for breakfast though :\

I might divide my day. Like hang out for a bit with group one, and then leave and find group 2. it'd be hard to explain though. xD

oy, drama >.<

its not hard to explain. just be straight up and be like 'hey, i told so and so i'd hang out with them today too. i'll catch up with ya'll later"

you should come hang with group C instead

us

^^ Yeah. :rotfl:

Well, yeah or you could always resolve to what they do in the movies,
Tell one group your going to the bathroom,
meet the other group,
then go to the bathroom after that,
and back to the original group,
and so on and so fourth.
:thumbsup2

and you could tell them both to get over themselvs and relax, it's summer

Yeah I agree with Sparx, just divide the day up. They should understand.
This way you get to spend the day with both groups.
I know how you feel a bunch of my friends don't get along...so this happens a lot.

Good luck

You definetly have to be upfront about it.
Don't start making up excuses, like, oh I don't feel well, or I need to go do some chores, and then hang out with the other group midway through the day.
Because in that case, someone will find out you were lying, and people's feelings WILL be hurt.

Just spend the am with Group 1, since you promised them that, and tell Group 2, sorry, I already made plans, catch up with you in the afternoon.
Then tell Group 1 after breakfast, hey this was great, gotta go, I had already made plans to meet up with some people in the afternoon, see you guys later.

If you're just open about it, it won't be a big deal.

Have fun!
