Any advice on October Vs. 1st week of November?

Possibly planning a fall trip so we can go one last time before DD2 turns 3 and DS turns 10. I've never been in the fall. If you were looking at these dates, what would you choose? I'm not thinking about crowds that much because I think they've become too difficult to predict and on our last trip (a few weeks ago) even on high crowds days, our touring plan along with FP+ kept our waiting to an all time minimum. So, mostly I'm thinking about weather and any events that I might want to consider. TIA!

Would you rather have the parks decorated for Halloween or Christmas? Plan to do either of the parties? Plan it right and you could do both.

It would have to be the first week of November and I didn't think they decorated for Christmas that early. If given the choice, Christmas decorations for sure, but DD2 turns 3 in November, so the trip has to start before her birthday.

Because they start the first parties about a week in, they do start putting up some decorations that first week. It won't be the full effect by any means, but you'll start seeing decorations. I'm guessing all the wreaths on Main Street will be up that week since the party starts on the 7th.

If you can arrive on 10/31 and go home on the 8th, you could catch both parties.

November has fewer crowds - a lot of southern schools have Fall Breaks throughout October and it's getting more and more crowded every year at that time. Christmas decorations will be up in the parks around the first week of November (not all decorated, but you'll definitely see signs of the season - and MK will probably be fully decorated just a few days after the last Halloween party). If given the choice, I would go in November - we're locked into the school schedule, so we don't have the luxury, but my husband and I are taking a couples trip next year and choosing between November or the first week of December.
