Morning all! :D

Im pretty new here only joined up yesterday and have been browsing threads ever since!

I've book Disneyland Paris for 4 nights 18th Feb-22nd Feb for my little princesses 2nd birthday :D

It will be my first time at DLP, have been to Florida twice but when I was only very young so can't remember much!

Any advice for our first time with a toddler? All any ideas for a nice birthday surprise for her?

We will be staying in London on the 17th Feb and traveeling by Eurostar on the 18th - :D

Were all so excited - My little girl has walked around carrying a little figure of Mickey and one of Minnie for the last 2 days constantly (even to nursery) and she is so excited - She keeps shouting Mickey :D - Can't wait to see here face!

Anyways I'm Paula and its nice to meet you all :)

Hi Paula, Welcome.

It sounds like you will have a great time. We have been when my youngest was 1, 2 and 3 and have some great memories. It could be very cold at that time of year so make sure you take plenty of layers and blankets for the buggy because it is a lot colder if you are sitting around.

Some children can be wary of the characters when they first see them, but if your daughter likes them you could take her to cafe mickey for a character meal. You can also order a birthday cake to have there.

We found it quite hard to get our daughter to nap with all that excitement around her so she got a bit grumpy at times.

If you eat in the buffet restaurants your daughter will be able to eat for free because she is under three and if you have room in your luggage you can take snacks with you for her to save money once you are there.

We took DD(1) back in Aug. to celebrate her first birthday. She loves the character on tv and the stuffed animals she has of them, but was terrified of the costumed characters at the park :confused3 .

Not sure what kind of stroller you use, but we find that the clear rain protectors work great even in cold weather to keep some of the heat in and cut out any cold breeze.

Alos, beware of POTC!!! It has some good sized drops, which I didn't know about (I thought it was closer to the one at WDW and felt guilty for days after) and DD was afraid of everything from then on.

I hope you have a very magical trip!!!

Let the hotel know you are celebrating her birthday even if you dont get anything from it at least you tried!

You could make a surprise box/bag for her like a few of us on here have done
include some Disney goodies in it!

DD was only 6 months last time so a lot younger then your DD but she did have an amazing time DD got so much attention from all the characters especially when she was dressed up!

Aww, thank you all so much for your help!

I will be taking raincover for the stroller and also a big thick fleecey blacket to cover her :D

Thanks for the advise on the POTC drops - I will bare that in mind while there although she is a bit of a daredevil!

Tinks thanks for the advice on letting the hotel know - I will email them a few days before we go and drop the hint! I also have disney items to wrap up for her to open on the train to keep her entertained - although she has never been on a train so that will be something new to her aswell!

If I was to ask the hotel would they put ballons and things in room (obviously at a cost)? Or do they not do this?

When I booked the man realized the trip was close to DDs birthday and said he would put a note on our booking it was her birthday and that hopefully the hotel would add a little extra magic!

I have also been told you can ring and ask to add it for a cost. Not sure how much but just ring the normal booking number and ask.

Either way we arent worried if we get anything or not obviously it would be nice but I dont think it would be something I would pay for xxx
