Any advantage to wearing the "Celebrate" buttons?

DW was asking today if you get spotted for little gifts or something for wearing the "celebrate" buttons as we'll be taking the in-laws on their first trip to Disney this year.

Any experiences with the buttons?

Not much for us. A CM or 2 mentioned them, but that's it. My DD was told happy birthday when they saw her pin, but she was only 1, so she didn't really care. My sil and bil were told happy anniversary a few times with their pins. But our grand gathering pins weren't mentioned/noticed too much, but I guess it also depends on the CM.

They are mainly just to get you a little extra smile or hello from CMs. Wear the buttons proudly and enjoy the smiles!

when we were down in Oct. for are sons wedding a couple of times a cm give them a go straight to the front of the line passes they were told honeymooners should not have wait and at DHS they got free turkey legs

When we wore them for our anniversary, we got tons of congrats! and Happy Anniversays!

A few places went out of their way to make it a little special... when we rode the safari, they gave us our own row in the back, we got confetti on some of our dining places, and got a free umbrella. (That one was a life saver... I had left the wallet with the boyfriend.)

You might get a little magic, but it's mainly for the smiles and the congrats!

Just got back, and roommate got tons of comments on her birthday button. A few fun birthday cards handed out at random, a discount photopass card (20% off on any online order), free champagne, candles in her desserts, a few extra fastpasses, lots and lots of smiles and "Happy Birthday"s! We had a great time!

We were given the pins when we checked into Boma for our anniversary dinner - we thought that was surprise enough but during our meal, our waitress told us to let her know when we were ready for dessert - the chef was making something special for us. We got the dessert as well as a beautiful card from the staff at Boma and when we wore them in the parks the next day, we were given another card from the staff at LeCellier and we got to ride in the front of the monorail - DH's favorite magical moment! We also had quite a few CM's wish us a happy anniversary

We have gotten some nice perks in the past as we go on our anniversary every year. BUT with the new "What will you Celebrate" promotion, every other person has a pin on for something. Which obviously means it's not as "special" so the perks are taking a sharp decline. Mostly you'll just get a "happy birthday" "congrats" from the CMs

We had our anniversary buttons on in Jan, and that was pretty much our experience. I really enjoyed it though. It made us smile each and every time it happened.

Let's see, besides people wishing us a happy annivesary, a couple of other things happened:
-we got a cupcake with a candle in it at dinner at Crystal Palace
-also, at cp we had been there awhile and had not seen pooh and he didn't seem to be coming soon - out waitress got his handler who told us to wait at the center of the cp and they would bring him out "specifically" to see us since it was our anniversary so we could have a pic with him - I was glad about that since you can't go to the crystal palace without a pic of pooh - the waitress and handler were both very nice
-at grand floridian cafe, we got a cute mickey cupcake and they took a pic of us (the host said "you have to have a pic on your anniversary!!") and printed it out and put it in a nice like card thing (this is not a place that does for regular meals)
-got little things added to our desserts at narcoossee's (i hope i spelled that correctly) and the waiter gave us mickey straws (i was excited!! heh)
-Push the talking trashcan stopped us on our way to tomorrowland and had a convo with us about our wedding and starting to hum the wedding song (I can't tell you how surprised I was at that one...hehe)
-all of the characters we took a pic with made sure to recognize that it was our anniversary in some form of fashion which was really cute

I think there might have been a few other similar things. They were all little things, but we loved them and every minute of our trip. All the CMs were so nice and friendly!

I think it depends on the situation and the CM, but I wouldn't go into it expecting anything. I agree with the PP that said that with all of the pins & buttons you'll see this year, there's no way that the CM's can give EVERYBODY special treatment.

I just think it's a fun way to let others know that you're celebrating something.

They'll give them to you at check in if you noted it on your ressies. If not, you can get one at guest relations at any park.
