I'm wondering if it would be worth it to join AAA for the Disney rates. How do you book through them? Is it all done on line or are some travel agents authorized AAA agents? I sort of like to have a person to deal with but I used a travel agent last trip and didn't feel like she did much I couldn't have done myself.
Has anyone had any problems like lost reservations etc with AAA?
Thanks for your help!

:wave2: Hello Penguin,
Not an expert here, but I did book our resort stays for this coming June through AAA. For three nights @ AKL (Savannah View) and 5 nights @ the Contemporary (Tower Room) we saved over $900 off the Disney rack rate. So for a $50 membership fee, I'm ahead over $850 in my book. We also booked at Universal (Portofino Bay) and saved over $100 per night. I did this all online, but you can go to the office also.

I use AAA a lot and have never had a problem. The membership is diffently worth it for what you will save. They have travel agents in the local AAA offices. I usualy book over the phone and then just go in to get my paperwork. Before buying a membership call and get a price quote to see if it would worth it for you.

I usually book everything myself but without the discount codes lately. It is less expensive to go thru AAA. My last trip, I used AAA and was very pleased! No problems at all. I would get quotes both ways and see which way is cheaper. BTW, I spoke with the same AAA person the whole time. She did a great job!

Just booked the POP for 10 nights in July......saved 150.00 with AAA. I am booking thru a AAA TA this time around. You get some extra perks this way.
I know you get up front parking at the parks...and here are some of the other discounts you get....

Dining:
10% at Fulton Crab House, Portobello Yacht Club, PlanetHollywood, Bongos, Wolfgang Puck and Cafe, Outback
15% at Earl of Sandwich, House of Blues
20% at Traitors Steak and Seafood, All Star Cafe, Garden Groove, Kimonos, Polyos and Splash

10% watercraft at Sammy Duvall watersports
15% mini golf at Disney
15% days vistor rates at Disney golf
15% water mouse rentals
20% of Richard Petty Driving experience

10% spa and salon services at Wyndham

10% at Walt Disney store at DTD
10% at Planet Holloywood purchases
10% at House of Blues purchases, Bongos

So YES it is worth joing AAA...and who knows maybe someday they can fix a flat for you? :wizard:

I am going on my 4th trip to Disney booking through AAA-I wouldn't go any other way. My agent is great. I would make sure they are specificaly Disney Agents(all my agent does is Disney-and he was a former castmember.) The discounts are good, you can get free maps and tourbooks to anywhere, and if you lock your keys in your car or the battery is dead you are in luck. :thumbsup2
