I think a person would be nuts if they didn't at least "consider" the impact of travel costs on their DVC....
For us, we are, for the first time, considering driving instead of flying. From Wisconsin, I've heard estimates from 20 - 23 hours driving.... Not looking forward to that, but if airfare goes to $400 a person, maybe that makes sense. Also, maybe WDW cuts back drastically on bus service and charging for DME, so having a car helps. Not sure if it will make a big difference if my son misses 5 days of school or 6....
I'd love a DVC somewhere in the middle of the country. Maybe that will be a possibly to increase sales if there's a slowdown.
Finally, we're looking into trading out to the Concierge Collection or and II exchnage closer to us. I know, may not be the best "value" but it may be a lot better than loosing points.
We're also considering a 2 week trip every other year or something like that.
