Hi there!
I am anxiously awaiting West Jet's new fall schedules to be released for Sept/Oct 2012.....I think they should come out in a couple weeks! I have been looking throughout this yr's schedule to get an idea of pricing/times.....but have found that flights this yr. are quite expensive.
I will be flying from Edmonton to Orlando, and don't mind flying the red eye flight to get there early Sat. Morning and have the whole day ahead of us. I don't want to drive to Calgary in the winter, so am hoping decent flights from Edmonton will be found.....I would be flying out probably on the RED eye at midnight on Sept 29, 2012, and returning on Sunday, October 7,2012.....right now flights are looking like close to $300 each way!!! That's crazy since last yr. I found flights for about $175.00 each way....and that was West Jet's direct flight! I really don't want to pay more than $259 each way, and that's even cutting it close to the high end...however I would buy tickets at that price if I saw them, because I haven't seen the tickets go much under $300 per way this yr. at all!!!
Do you think I should jump on tickets as soon as they come out, or wait into January hoping they may come down a little??? I sure wish we had something like South West where the credit could go into an account if they come down for no fee...unfortunately, West Jet charges that $50 per change fee, and that often eats up any savings! Yikes, airfare is such a gamble, I definitely want to fly Canadian Carrier and NOT Air Canada...they lost my business when they added on the extra baggage fees!
