Ants and throwing out my toaster??

2fold question.... how do I get rid of ants and can you clean a toaster? lol

I got up in the middle of the night to make my son a bottle (long story short I was awful mom of the evening and allowed him to fall out of the bed!!! So after calming him..he's ok! I wanted to make him a bottle...and came into a kitchen full of ants)...
Well, before bed last night my DD made cinnamon toast... And left out all her remnants... Guess they were after that? Well...I sprayed and such...but I saw them crawling (ewwwwwwww ) all over the toaster... I'm scared to even use it again if they are in there!! How does one really CLEAN a toaster anyways.. and am I better off buying a new one??
And.. these ants.. it's been an ongoing battle... I thought we won.. as no ants for a few weeks... No such luck It seems they come off our big back deck.. Dunno...

You should clean your toaster, even without the ants

The bottom comes off, so you can get all the crumbs and stuff out. They are pretty easy to clean. (and if you never empty the crumbs it can be a fire hazzard...)

Don't worry, once the food source is gone, the ants will go too. You don't need to throw out your toaster (but all it takes is leaving food out and they will be back, no matter how you spray. I don't know how they know the food is there, but they KNOW!)

Do you know...that all this time I NEVER knew there was a tray on my toaster?? I just get curious too about cleaning out the INSIDE....it's like I wanna throw it in the dishwasher or something....lol

And, yeah...ants have BEYOND 6th sense!!
