McKenna: She took a seat next to Haven. She said, "I guess we're partners."
Ms. Squid: "Now, let me explain to you about how this class is going to work. Some days we will have potions lab, those days you will be working with your partner. I don't like to change partners around, but I will until I like a permenant pair. Other days we will use magic, those days you may sit wherever you like. The magic possessed ones are the ones who will be firing spells that day, all you have to do is remember and understand them. This class has a very specific grade. Fifty percent is potion work. This includes you following the labratory rules and making a potion that is either perfect or near perfection. Fifty percent is the magic portion of the class. Any questions?"
McKenna: "Do we have any homework?"
Ms. Squid: She smiled. "No, the only homework is to improve on your skills. If it comes to the distruptance of the class, I may choose to assign a project. However, I will try not to because I know that you have some lives outside of our school building. Just obey by my rules, then I shall respect your rights. Since some of you are still getting to know each other, I would assume that there shall be no fighting this class period. But, I do not take any distrubtance lightly. You will be punished if you have disrespect in this class."
McKenna: She nodded.
Ms. Squid: "Now we are going to go over the rules in here, they are not a lot, but you must obey them or you will spend a dentention with me sanitizing the labratory equipment.
Rule #1: Wear safety precautions. These will include goggles for your eyes, gloves for your hands, and a lab apron to put on over your clothes. The ladies in this room must take off any dangly jewlery that they may have unless they want it to fall into the potion we are making and they shall tie up their hair in a bun.
Rule #2: You must get along. I will simplify the rules for some of you to say no fighting, there is to be no bullying, and there shall be no roughhousing. Punishments shall include three after school detentions sanitizing the laboratory equipment and that is the last thing I want for both you or I.
Rule #3: Do not try any combinations on your own. Follow the recipe that I give you and we shall get along just fine.
