Anti-frizz hair lotion recommendation

For the Ots a 10, do you all use the leave in conditioner or the spray?

My DD is wanting something to control frizz on her hair. I don't see any frizz but LOL We saw Tresemme anti-frizz bottle tonight but do these products really work? Thank you for any recommendations.

What's her hair like? Thin, thick, wavy, curly?

I have several products I rave about - but they're all for different hair.

Two of them, for any hair are:

Sebastian Potion 9 (been using this for a good 15 years)
Moroccan Oil - which will be coming out with a "light" version this month.

BioSilk, while nice, will make your hair greasy if you use too much - as do many of the silkening products people have mentioned. And again - everyone's hair is so different.

thanks for your replies everyone:) I see there's various products to choose. For now I'm going to ignore DD's request for this hair product because DH just got a cut in pay. Her hair is a little wavy, doesn't look frizzy to me. :confused3

I just saw this - another option to eliminate frizz and get your hair looking better is co-washing:

(I can't find the DISBOARDS Link I was looking for. I've already talked about this... lemme keep looking)

She might want to try switching to a sulfate-free shampoo if she hasn't already. It's the ingredient that makes a shampoo lather and those bubbles can really irritate the hair and cause frizz. I'm a fan of Aquage Vitalizing Shampoo and Equalizing Detangler.

Agreed. I gave up sulfate shampoos (L'oreal, Vitamin and Giovanni make drugstore ones) and it was the best thing I ever did for my hair!

On a side note - the sulfates aren't that big of a deal, if you're not washing your hair every day.

If you only wash every 3rd or 4th day - the sulfates won't impact your hair's condition. :thumbsup2

I use the mask (you rinse it out) and then I use the leave in miracle spray. This is the routine my stylist recommended for me.

I have used for years Aveda Perfume Brillant anti-humectant Pomade. The jar lasts forever. The only thing is you can't use too much or your hair looks and feels greasy. Otherwise it's great.

Aquage Silkening Oil - this stuff is gold in a bottle. My hair has NEVER been so soft. I get it at my salon and it's expensive but it cuts drying time in half!!!

I love Moroccan Oil, but you have to be careful because if you use too much it makes your hair greasy.

Do you use it wet or dry?

When wet - I've never had an issue with too much. I use about a nickel to quarter size dollop.

I use Fructis. I blow my wavy hair straight every morning. It works pretty well, but in low-humidity. When it's hot and humid, it doesn't work so well. And when I work out, and get sweaty, my hair goes all curly and frizzy despite the product. I don't think any product will work 100% of the time....

I have this, and tried using it. It has never worked right for me. Maybe I'm using too much? I'll have to dig it out of the back of my cabinet and maybe give it another go. It was $$ when I bought it!

DD has very curly & thick hair that can get frizzy FAST! We use a leave in conditioner while her hair is still wet (don't dry it, just wring it out). I part it into 4 sections and the water in her hair distributes the l/i conditioner. When the hair is dry, you can style it. Leaving water as long as possible in the hair and letting it dry without touching it seems to be the magic solution.

I would love to find it on sale once in a while! $30 is about as low as I can find the 10 oz. size. It lasts a long time thankfully. Hope you like it as much as we do. :)

We used to use the John Frieda products too before finding It's a 10. I do still buy Frizz-Ease Secret Weapon but have to use much more product to get similar results.

I have tried so many different products and they have all been a waste of money. None of them have done anything for my hair but I keep using them just in case. When I straighten my hair, it's smoother, but that's not the healthy option! But I am SO relieved for the Kenra hair products.

The one I used (and I couldn't find it online for some reason to show you), was about $17 from one of the salons I go to, and it's some kind of smoothing cream in a clear pump bottle with black detailing. I'm out of it now. I use it after washing my hair, put in about 6 pumps, really brush it through the hair, and then either blowdry right away, or wrap my hair in a towel and airdry/blowdry later. I've been meaning to go pick up more Kenra products, because it seems it's only after an appointment at the salon with those products that my hair looks the best!

Wow, that's a lot. I use it when wet then I blow dry it. I can't use more than a dime size, even a little less. I have pretty thin hair, though. It's a little longer than shoulder length.
