Antenna Topper Thieves - Are You A Victim Too?

Mine was stolen on Disney property!

Yes, I've been a victim too of the notorious antenna topper thieves. They took my baseball Mickey head that looked like a baseball with Mickey ears, and they took my 50th Celebration golden ears one. I don't have one on my car now. I do have a few on top of pencils at school that look really cute!

For now I am no longer an antenna topper virgin I bought a chicken little one 2 weeks ago.

My 21 month old yells Chicken.. Chicken whenever she see's it.

I have had two stolen on Disney property (MK both times)! On St Pat's Day 2003, my Mickey head with the green hat, and late last year at MK my Happiest Celebration topper!


I always say I will take it off when I park, but I never do - it really does help in locating the car.

I figure the BAD BAD Karma will come back to get them some day!

so wa smine, I had a black college progam one and it got stolen in either the cp apartments or the magic kingdom cast parking lot!!!!! unfortunately it's not one that's easily replaceable, I got it at my interview for the wdwcp

I bought my mgm one on e-bay (just never got around to getting it at MGM Studios when we were there.)
It was stolen...............

I have had 6 stolen...yes 6...so needless to say my car is now antenna topper less....a few years ago we were leaving on a Saturday morning to drive to WDW...so on Thursday night I washed my car...vacuumed it all clean and then put not one, not two but three antenna toppers on my car...the Mickey with the feet at the bottom....a red one in the middle and a black Mickey on the top....I parked my car on Friday in the city parking lot by my office building and as I was driving home that night I saw my antenna in my mirror and thought it looked a little "naked"...yup I got home and someone had taken all three Mickeys.....well that was the end of antenna toppers on my car....

I had a Minnie one stolen - it was in 2003 and I was at the hospital visiting my then newborn son who was in the NICU - talk about adding insult to injury. Meanies.

I've had them taken off my wheelchair. I use one on my controller.It was taken at CAndlelight processional where the wheelchair was parked at the right side of the stage near the stage entrance. It was Minnie. Fortunately I have a variety and change them out fairly frequently. Off to WDW tmw so I guess I need to get some more antenna toppers.

I'm lucky I've never had one stolen--but I always worry. I think after reading these, I'll take my Happiest Celebration ones off. I have a ton of other ones, but that one may become scarce after this year and I'd hate to lose it. I think it helps that I park my car in my garage every night and my car sits RIGHT outside my office at work. But you never know where the thieves are lurking . . .

Luckily, I haven't ever been the victim of a topper swiper. But then again..it'd be kind of hard to swipe the toppers I put on MY car. The last one (a red squid named Squidbert) had to be cut from my antenna and my current one (a purple octopus with red eyes) will probably have to be cut off too if I ever decide to take him down.

You'd have to steal my whole antenna if you were gonna swipe my topper.

I don't have an antenna, so no topper for me - but I have envied someone's in the parking lot at my train station. It's on a cute little car, Pontiac Vibe and its a Golden Earred Mickey. I did stop to look at it once very closely only to see if it was from WDW or DL. I didn't touch though as I didn't want the owner to happen upon me and think I was a topper swiper.

This is probably a really stupid question, but as you're already talking about them, it seemed the natural place to ask. - How do you get the things on in the first place? I just bought the golden ears Mickey one, and it doesn't fit. Do you drill the hole bigger, remove some sort of cap already on the antenna, or what? (If it's different for different cars - I have a Mercury Sable wagon. The antenna is supposed to retract, but doesn't go in all the way because of some happy glitch, so I bought one anyway.)

P.S. - I also bought a back-up (the golf ball with Mickey ears) because I was afraid the glitter would come off in the weather. I wouldn't have imagined people actually steal them. - How positively un-Disney!!

Yes, unfortunately I was a victim too. I have been switching out my toppers with the seasons/holidays since 2004. But in the last two weeks someone stole my Eeyore topper. I honestly don't know when it was stolen. It was probably while I was parked at the grocery store or Wal-mart.

YES! My Golden Ears Mickey was stolen from my truck right in my driveway I now have a lime green Mickey on there that I got at the Disney Store. If this one disappears - I refuse to put another one on

I had an Incredibles topper stolen. This was teh second one. Before that I had a Sorcerer Mickey topper stolen. I think I live in a bad neighborhood

Same here!!!!! Mine was stolen inside Chatham Square, so I know it was by a CM. I didn't want to post THAT part, but since you already went there.

I was walking with a friend of mine, and all of a sudden I'm like "SON OF A BE...... " She's all... "What?" and I'm "some ******* stole my antenna topper tonight!"
