Antenna Topper Thieves - Are You A Victim Too?

I had my Mickey Bellhop topper from California Adventure since March 2005. Nobody ever stole it - until yesterday!

Now I'm topperless. (Can I say that on the DIS?)

Have you been a victim of this seriously stupid crime too?

Yep.....I had one of the really cute snowman ones with the Mickey ears on and a green scarf. I like to change them for the different seasons. Well, it had been on for about a month, when we went to a neighboring town for a basketball game for dd, 12. When we came out of the school gym, it was gone. I've never had one stolen before. Couldn't believe it. Now, I'm very cautious about which ones I put on...no way am I putting my 'good' ones on. I just can't imagine walking up to a car, reaching way up there and stealing an antenna topper!!!! Sheesh

I had a yellow mickey stolen off my Jeep. It was really dirty though, but it still matched my Jeep

I replaced it and it's still there, although I'm thinking of taking it off, it has faded badly, is really dirty and I saw it through the passenger window the other day while driving home and thought "that can't be good..."

i had the stars and stripes Mickey stolen. Bought my van into the dealer for some work and when it was done the Mickey topper was gone. I also had the one I bought for my DH ( camouflague Mickey) disappear too.

A few (6? several?) years ago, before antenna balls were all the rage, I had a plain Mickey ball on my antenna. He lasted almost a month, I believe. I was so angry when he was stolen!

Anyway, my car now doesn't have an antenna so my sun mickey ball is taped up in my office...LOL

I too have been a victim of antenna topper thieves.

Maybe we should have our own support group.

I had a princess Minnie one that I got from DL when we still lived in CA. DH took the kids to a mini golf place one day and when they came out it was gone. Some teeny bopper probably took it.

Wait, now that I read that, DH really wasn't thrilled that he had to drive around with a princess Minnie on the antenna.....
And they do say that most kidnappings are committed by someone that the victim knows.....
I wonder???


Nah, he would never do that. It was definitely some teeny bopper.

Mine got stolen from the parking lot at DD's dance recital! Imagine, something as innocent as a dance recital can spawn topper thieves. I am distraught!

I have been a victim too. Someone took my golden ears Mickey. I bought another one on my last trip. Hopefully this one will stick around for a while.

I got one stolen before, and then one time someone ripped and ear off....WHO WOULD DO SUCH A THING!!!!

Lady up the street thought she would be slick with non-disney topper after a few got stolen .Well she superglued it on .

They took her entire antenna broke it below the car line and had to pull the rear quaterpanel off to fix it.

I have the Soccer Mickey in my vent on the dash and a Ravens football helmet Mickey hanging from the visor.

Someone stole my castle antenna topper I tried to get another one back in March, but they didn't have them anymore Maybe that is why it got stolen Now I have a mickey head wearing sunglasses

To all the antenna topper thieves, please leave this one alone, it is the only way I can find my car in the parking lots

My princess Minnie one did not last ONE day...I went to the mall the afternoon after I put it on and it was gone when I came out.


I had a castle one that I put on my car in April after our trip, that one lasted almost two months before disappearing.

Now, I have a sunglass Minnie on there, but DH says "keep 'em in the car"...if she disappears, I'm done putting ones on.

Funny thing is my first Mickey I had for about 4 years and no one ever touched it (except for they guy I found in the Target parking lot looking at it who then asked me "where do you get those?"...duh, it says "disneyland" on it, where do you think?).

I had a Minnie, Mickey, and sorcerer Mickey stolen a few years ago. Since then I haven't had any trouble with antena topper theives. I keep buying a new one evry time I go to WDW *just in case*, but now a have a drawer full of them.

I had my Minnie topper stolen while my car was parked outside my Nana's nursing home. It's in the part of Boston where I grew up....a really nasty, gross area. I figured I was lucky it was just the topper and not the whole car.

funny story regarding antenae toppers and theivery..


on 9/11/02 we hosted a salute to our local servicemen, fire, police, etc. as part of the thank you packages there were star shaped american flag toppers in each bag,, and all members of host organization got a bag,, soo i have three of these stars, one on each truck, the one one dws blazer was actually taken off by us a few weeeks ago when one of my ddis buddies sent me a potc black pirate one for my truck and dw opened hte box before i did,,lol,,

anyway backj to the thieves.. i had loaned my suburban to a friend, with antenae topper star in place, we all met at local wal mart one after noon, me in toyota tacoma, with star, dw in blazer with star, buddy in suburban with star, we all parked next to each other, three truck all in erow with same topper. when we came out of the store,, the one on the suburban was gone. they passed my toyota, nice short truck,, passed dws blazer again easy reach, took the one off the suburban and it was the hardest to get to..a few weeks later, all three trucks were together again, local restaurant for lunch, tthe one on the toyota was stolen,, what really made us laugh, we used hte toppers because both my suburban and toyotas had twins in town,, and i could tell by the topper if it was my truck or the other guys, both times the toppres were stolen the twin trucks were in the parking lots near ours.

Mine lasted almost a whole year. My gold mickey ears that lived in a not so great neighborhood, moved to a nicer neighborhood where we lived for two years. One day I came out and they were gone. My antenna angles off the roof too, and I can't even reach it. I was soooo mad! How does one find a Corolla in a Walmart parking lot now, sheesh

I hear you, loud and clear!

I hesitated at my Cobalt yesterday because there was no topper! I said "this isn't my car", feeling like a dummy for approaching it, and my DD says "yes it is Mom".

"Where's my Mickey???????!!!!!!!"

"Someone obviously STOLE it Mom".



There are getting to be way too many Cobalts out there these days - I need a new topper fast!
