Has anyone use it? What is it like? Do they have cribs? What is the staff to infant ratio? What do they feed the kids? How does it work?

Sorry for all the questions but I read a lot about the kids club but very little about the infant care?

TIA,

Tina:confused:

pal2pluto thanks for that info!!

I think my DH and I are going to try out Flounders Reef on our Wonder cruise for the time we are in Palo and the spa, however, my sister and her husband will NOT leave their children with a stranger!!

I completely understand where they are coming from, but I would like to dine with them in Palo - how do I convince them that their DD and DS will be safe with these CM???

We have a huge family group going (25 people) and I will not ask my mom and dad to watch my DD while they are on vacation. I don't think it is fair to them.

Also, my reasoning for leaving my DD in FR is at some point in your child's life you will have to trust them to other adult "strangers".

Am I wrong in feeling this way? Has anyone else ever had this dilemma?

Please let me know.

Thanks,
Lisa

Good question, Lisa! My dd who is one has never been in childcare so, I am not exactly sure how she will react. My older dd has been in childcare so, I don't think she'll have a problem with Kids clubs.

About your sister, personally I think, it her and her dh's decision. She already has an opinion about it and I wouldn't try and change it. I can see both sides of the agruement. I think, I am going to check it out first and see how I feel about first before I sign up. Hopefully, they will have staff on hand so, I can get a gauge of who they are and how they react with the kids.

If you want to eat dinner with your sister, maybe have a girls night where the dhs stay and watch the kids while the women have a nice dinner. ;)

I would still like to hear about someone's experience with the Flounder. The rules seem reasonable except for the fact that my kid eats every second of the day....

I guess, I want to know:

1) What was the staff like with the kids?

2) What kinds of toys did they have?

3) Did the room have a window or is it in a basement?

4) Was the place clean?

5) Did you get paged when there was a problem?

6) Was it worth it to have your kid spend time there?

7) In general, how did you feel about the place?

Tina....I'll try to answer as much as I can. There are pics on Barb's website at www.disneycruiser.com or www.castawayclub.com

Ds was 2 1/2 when we went in January. I'm a stay at home mom, and he is rarely not with me except for church. So I was unsure of how he would do there. He enjoyed it 3 of the evenings we were there, but after that he didn't want to "go play with the kids." So be flexible, and maybe book Palo's early in the cruise!:D

1. The staff was great with Levi. One evening when I picked him up he was sitting in a CM's lap reading. Seemed happy, but tired.
2. Toys...you can see on Barb's pics.....sit and spins, rocking horses, about 4 shelves full of multiple hand toys all within reach of the kids. Looked clean and safe to me.
3. It is on the same floor as Oceaneers Club. If I remember correctly, that's deck 4. There is a dutch door so they can keep 1/2 of it open. There is also a one way window so you can check in on your child w/o them seeing you.
4. Looked clean to me, but I didn't do a state inspection ;)
5. Never got paged.
6. YES!!! We enjoyed Palo's on Sunday. Got to enjoy 2 evening shows w/o distraction or figeting. However, I would recommend you take a toddler to Disney Dreams on Thursday...it was so fun to see him enjoy the magic! We canceled other times, but insisted he go on Friday while I packed....he really didn't want to go, but he did fine, and I got everything packed without running into him.
7. I'm glad it was available. So many things I pass up because it is not kid-friendly, and I really appreciated having my husband to myself.
