Another wii price drop q

I know no one knows these answers for sure, but I've never bought any kind of video game or system before so I'll take any guesses... If the price really does drop to $199 next week, are they going to start selling like hotcakes again? Do you think that it is better to snap one up? Or wait until Black Friday, etc. when they start offering the gift cards if you buy the wii... Or will they even do that with the price drop?

Even if the prices drop for Wii systems you will be able to find them. All of the people that "had" to have them, have already purchased them. All of the stores near me have cases full, I can't see them suddenly seeing a shortage.

This year the big shortage problem is Zhu Zhu pets or Go Go Pets....try finding the hamsters this year for a good time.

I agree with PP. The PS3 price dropped to $299 and they are still fairly easy to find. We plan on getting one for our son for Christmas. (we already have one in the living room for my husband and son to share, this one will be for his room) We don't anticipate any problems. I would think it will be the same with the Wii.

Yes. Nintendo determines the price, and stores must abide by the set price. That's why with gaming systems, you will see stores offering gift cards or free games with the system to attract customers. They can't alter the price of the system, so they have to come up with creative ways to attract buyers.
