Another "Which would YOU choose" Question...;)

Post Cruise Resort Options for Family of 5 -- Which would YOU choose and WHY?

  • One Room at POR with Trundle Bed - $

  • Two Value Rooms...Pop or ASMo - $$

  • One CR Wing Room - $$$

  • Other? Please give suggestion!

Funny how the "budget" always seems to grow as I plan... I've decided to add three nights at the beginning AND the end of the cruise. It's the only way to do all of the things we'd like to do without practically killing ourselves.

After reading many CR reviews, I've noticed that most of the negative reviews come from those who have stayed in the wings, and of those who have stayed in the tower there are almost all positive reviews.

I think we'll all squeeze into one room at POR for the first three nights (saving money), then onto the cruise, then we'll stay CR Tower for the last three nights before coming home.

(Of course I still have plenty of time to change my mind again.)

(Nothing like asking for opinions/votes and then doing something altogether different, huh?) Sorry. ;)

My family of 5 stayed at POR in June and we really liked it. I liked the pool, having a nice bar to relax and get a drink and the sit down restaurant in combination with the food court.

What are your cruise accomodations like? I know you sorta made up your mind, but my thought would be that if you're all squeezing into 1 cabin, then the 1 room before and after the cruise might be tight. If you can spread out more on the cruise then 1 one in WDW for a few days before and after hte cruise wouldn't be as bad.

I voted for two value rooms so you would have two bathrooms.

Good luck with your decision!

I did not vote because I could not decide between two! I've stayed at both and at CR with 2 adults and 3 kids - the rooms are plenty large enough and the location would be so much fun.

With an ap rate you can't go wrong at CR North Wing - I would request north room, facing the monorail becasue the kids would get such a kick of seeing it glide by (hey, so did I!!). It's the most convenient on your list since you've got MK next door, the monorail to EPCOT(easy change) etc.

BUT...2 rooms at POP would be alot of fun..I would be a bit concerned about kids being in another room alone - although 2 are old enough and you would have a connecting door you could keep open - might be a real treat for them.

I would not go with POR because that will feel cramped with older kids. Also, the cost of 2 rooms at POR with an ap would be about the same as CR and it would be ashame to miss that experience!

Good luck - at least you have lots of imput!!

We have connecting Category 10's on the cruise...Secret Porthole Rooms actually. That's why I was thinking that we may be able to do one room at WDW. If we did the smaller room before the cruise, then had a bit more space on the cruise, then CR afterwards because it's a bigger room? I think pre-cruise we'll be going to MGM and AK, and then save Epcot and MK for after the cruise.

the Contemporary Wing Room. You don't have a lot of time so you need convenience. And monorail=convenience. The CR is a nice resort - very magical. We've stayed there once and although it's not our favorite, it holds a special place in my heart because it's the first Disney resort I ever stayed in with my parents. They have great restaurants and really...you can't beat the location. Especially since you have kids.
