Yes, it's time for another what would you do...

If your budget was the same for each of these choices, where would you stay? Keep in mind you will have the DDP and Park Hopper for 4 days for each option.

Coronado
POP
Old Key West
Saratoga Springs

Help! And my forever thanks.

OKW. For sure. What size villa? The studio has two queen beds. The one bedroom has one king bed, one queen sleeper sofa and a twin sized sleeper chair.

Thanks for weighing in! It would be the studio.

Although I have never stayed at a DVC resort, I would choose OKW or Saratoga with a slight lean toward Saratoga because you can walk to Disney Springs. I think both resorts proximity to the Disney Springs restaurants would be beneficial since you are on DDP. I've also heard great things about Olivia's restaurant at OKW, not to mention both DVC resorts would have more spacious accommodations than Pop or CSR.

I'd stay at SSR - but only because I haven't stayed there yet. Also because it's walking distance to DS, although the boat from OKW to DS is very pleasant and convenient.

SSR followed by OKW . We go to DS several times a trip from POFQ so the closeness from those resorts give them the edge over CSR. We aren't all day park people and spend time at our resort (pool &lounge) as well as DS so for us POP would be last.

Wow. You guys are awesome! Thanks. Keep 'em coming.

Assuming that there is just one or two people going:

When you say that your budget is the same, do you mean that the cost of CSR = POP = SSR = OKW? Or do you mean that you have the same amount of money to spend in your budget, so that you would have more money for other things if you stay at the least expensive?

If POP is less expensive, but within budget, so that you would have extra money left over after paying for accommodations....then my vote would be for the least expensive (POP). CSR would normally be my vote, hands down, but with current construction CSR is a no go for me.

Now, if you have more than two people or need queen beds, you may want an OKW room for more space........

How many people in your party?

2 in party = Saratoga (assumed studio)

2+x in party = OKW because it has 2 real beds unlike Saratoga

2=X in party but you hate the +x = Saratoga still an option (my kids give bad reviews to the SSR sofa bed)

Hesitant: CSR, because while I wuv it, construction.

NOPE = POP, because I hate double beds, and you just listed 3 resorts with in-room coffee pots and a hot tub and waterslide on property, and POP has none of these things.

SSR studio will have one queen sized bed and one double sized sleeper sofa. When it is just the two of us for a short stay, we'll book an OKW studio and each take a bed. Neither one of us likes the sleeper sofa. We're too old to sleep on one of those.

One adult (me) and two 11 year olds..

It's the same - or, at least essentially the same amount of dollars; CSR and POP through Disney direct, and SSR and OKW through points rental.

Ha! all good points, especially the coffee. One adult, 2 kids (both 11).

I would choose
1)Saratoga Springs--It has two feature pools plus is close to Disney Springs (but only if they kids are ok with a pull out sofa bed)
2) Coronado (my kids LOVE the pool and the nachos were amazing!)
3) OKW--The pool is nice and deep (we are a pool family if you can't tell....) and the studios will have two beds. Beware though that a lot of the buildings don't have elevators so you may have to haul all your luggage up to the 3rd floor.
4) POP--We have stayed here twice to give it a good try, and neither time was enjoyable. Plus if it is the same amount of money, why do a value when you could have a moderate or deluxe?

Oh another plus for renting points and doing one of the DVC units, the dining plan will be cheaper than buying it through a regular resort. The dining plan for DVC didn't go up when other prices went up (they contract the price for the year), and it's not subjected to the "seasonal" pricing that can see the increase of the dining plan. So one of the DVC villas may save you a bit of money and come out cheaper.

OKW. It is beautiful and peaceful. Loved the boat to DS and Olivia's is a hidden gem.

With 3, OKW or CSR. I hesitate on CSR because while it has a fab pool and water slide, and the pool bar is A+++, I am notoriously construction averse.

SSR, I like the feature pools, but my kids say the sofa bed is not one of the better ones.

We have stayed at both CSR and Saratoga. I realize I am in the minority here but I would stay at CSR. Although my DH and I LOVED our stay at SSR, it was a couple only trip and we decided to do SSR because we were doing a more relaxing trip, not running to the parks all the time, etc. We walked around the resort, I got some spa treatments, we drank wine out on the balcony, hung out the pool. You get the point. If my son had been there when he was 11 I don't think he would have liked it. While it is still Disney-fied, it has a much more subtle feel to it.

When we are there as a family, we spend a lot more time at the parks as opposed to the resort. But we still love CSR because my DH and I can talk a relaxing stroll around the resort, have a drink at one of the bars, etc.

The only thing that makes me hesitate is the construction at CSR. I prefer no construction at the resort because it's a bummer when amenities are closed and it can tends to make you more aware of reality (LOL! I prefer to suspend all reality once I set foot on WDW property).

Those are GREAT thoughts. Thank you. After sleeping on it, I was wondering about that - would my kids actually "miss" all of the quirky designs and nuttiness of Coronado and POP? We are going to be park-ing it, but with a break day.
