Hi all,

I wanted to ask advice on my feet!!!

I have always hated wearing trainers to the parks as they make my feet soooo hot. Its true for me that cool hands and feet = cool me!!!

My sister wears normal Birkenstocks or Flip Flops when we've been in the past but even wearing my Birkenstocks all day at work - by home time my feet feel a bit sore and I am desperate to get in my slippers or go bare-foot!

I am a size 4 (UK) but I have wide chubby feet. I am also plus-plus-sized!!! Do you think being bigger makes my feet ache / sore quicker because of the additional weight I am putting on my tiny feet?

I like the look of a few of the types always mentioned on these thread but just worry that my feet will still feel sore and wonder whethers it more because I am bigger?

Even sometimes in trainers my feet ache after wearing them all day!

Hello!

I'm also Pooh Sized, and yes I think it does make your feet hurt more because you are putting more weight on your feet.

I simply can't wear sneakers in the parks. I hate for my feet to be hot.

I love my Teva Terra-Fi's. I need something supportive because my feet are also flat and I've never had a problem with these shoes. Yes, my feet still get tired but I never get blisters (I also put Body Glide on my feet)

Good luck finding the right shoe for you.

Being bigger definately doesn't help, over the years and after 3 kids I too have seen a differne the large I got. Unfortunately it's just one of those things.
As for shoes, on my last trip I wore Teve Olowahu's. they have the mush bottom.....and I never once had foot fatigue or a blister. I couldn't believe how much I loved them. So I'm buying them for this trip too.

I love my fit flops!

For our last trip I borrowed a pair from my Mum, after 3 days in shoes I'd taken I got round to wearing them and they were like heaven!

I wore them for like 4 days in a row then started to feel guilty for giving her shoes such heavy use, so I bought myself a Mickey pair.

Wore them the rest of the 2 week trip and didn't have any pain once!

I second the Teva Olwahoos (sp?) The mush bottoms are great for me (flat footed, pooh-sized). This trip I am also bringing my New Balance in case it just rains, and my New Keen Newport H2 with arch support. I plan on alternating and maybe throwing the Tevas in my park bag to switch out midday.

Here's another vote for Teva Terri-fi's. They are cool, super comfy and dry pretty fast (after those rides on River Rapids, flume, etc.) I love them & they last a long time - years.

Just remember to wear the shoes you plan to bring a few weeks beforehand, break them in first, don't do it while on vacation. They may feel comfortable in the store but could be a different story wearing them all day.

i like my crocs, ankles tend to get sore with day of long walking.

tevas just don't fit my feet right, always wind up with blisters

im crazy about the llbean water aerobic shoes "summer sneakers, mary jane", ive gotten 3 pairs in last month (on clearance, pricier new model is out). They have as much support as any athletic shoe & oh so comfy all day.

I am not a large woman, and I am quite fit...But I have severe Plantar Fasciitis in my foot and I wear mostly Tevas Terra Fi sandals at Disney. They are cool, comfy and dry fast

I am a Crocs girl. I bring the clog and flip flop styles. They are like pillows for my feet. I bought a pair of Teva Mush for my upcoming trip, and I was not impressed at all. They don't feel as supportive and the little tag on the inside of the strap is very annoying. I will stick with Crocs!

Birkies are my first choice for comfort, but they can't get wet so I also bring my Keen Whispers for rainy days. They are so comfortable and dry fast...:)

Thank you so much for this link! :worship: These look so comfy - I just ordered two pairs (different sizes, just to be sure). Got free shipping too, thanks to Retailmenot. Hope they feel as good as they look!

i tromped around all afternoon w/no complaints today.

before i started to wear crocs i had to get steriod shots in foot for pain & was worried these wouldn't have enough support...so far so good.

I Live in my TRAPS and they come in colors. I do not even bring sneakers on vacation, too hot for me.....
Oh, they had them at QVC last year and I get them locally...

Being pooh sized doesn't help I'm sure, however the more you are used to standing the better off you will be. My DH works in a pharmacy so therefore stands on his feet for 8+ hours per day and his feet don't bother him as much as my feet bother me(I sit all day at work).

As for shoes I just bought a pair of sketcher's shape-ups. I can't believe the difference in my feet. DH and I went to Mall of America about a month ago and normally my feet hurt before getting off the fist level but this time they didn't hurt all day. HTH! I believe they have sneaker and sandal shape-ups.
