Oh, how I wish I could get some of my 71 waiting reviews approved. It seems so long since any approvals for me. I know, I know, patience....... It will come I'm sure

it was funny, I submitted 8 vids at 10pm on 8/30 and by noon on 8/31 they were all approved... I submitted 42 more before midnight on 8/31 and they are still pending... no rhyme or reason.

haha just check and they did indeed approve one more Vid just a second ago... wow they work on Sundays especially a sunday of a holiday weekend? EXCELLENT FOR US

I am wanting to do travel destinations with my pics online. I am hoping to do an intro with me talking, then do a slide show with my pics--talking some more. So my questions.....

How can I do this using Windows Movie Maker?

Do I need a mic for the sound? If so, how do I add the sound to the slideshow of pics?

Durn it, you made me look but no last second approvals on my page, maybe later.
My kodak uses a file that doesn't work with Windows Movie Maker so I can't help you with any of that I'm sorry to say.
And yes, I really think posting on this thread is where our private messanger found what he thought were fools. He didn't know that we are all too smart to fall for his sick games

You will need a mic but they're fairly cheap (and you can review it to help offset the cost.......LOL)

The first thing to do is to shoot the opening and closing clips. Convert them if you need to and then import them into movie maker. Then import your pictures as well. Go to time line and drag everything into the time line in the order you want it. You can lengthen or shorten teh time you want each image displayed by clicking on the image and draging the right edge left or right. Above the time line and a bit to the left is a mic icon. Click where you want you audio to start then click the icon to get to the recording screen. You will have the choice of start recording and stop recording. Your computer should offer to save your sound files every time you stop recording. I usually watch my vids a few times and reherse what I'm going to say so I can adjust the clips before I start recording. When you're done with the whole review, save it to your computer rather than clicking the blue disc icon in the upper left in movie maker. That converts teh file to a .avi and you can uplaod it, if you don't save it that way, you will have a .wmm** something, which is a project file and not uploadable.

But..I did have a question for you veteran Expo Reviewers out there. I only have $8 in earnings so far. I did a review of a movie in theatres and was only credited $2 and it is supposed to be a $5 review. I also did a movie on DVD which should also be $5. Anyone else having trouble getting credited?

hmm...i havent had that particular problem, but i would recommend clicking the contact expo link at the bottom of any expo page and emailing them...any time i have a problem , they have been very quick and polite about getting back to me and getting my problem fixed!!

eta-amy, I just noticed your videos were submitted before the end of august, is that right? in august, dvds were still $2...that could be your problem there if thats the case...

hmmm...strange. The couple of times I have emailed them, they have gotten back to me in about 24 hours...i do know some other people have complained about slow response/lack of response! I guess maybe try them again?? good luck...and as brivers mentioned, good job!

I have 18 videos left to be reviewed for August, though.

Yesterday the husband and I took a long drive up the coast. At the last second, I grabbed the camera and we shot two new locations to be reviewed under travel destinations. It only dawned on me this morning that I could have reviewed the coastal drive as well, since it was on the Coast Highway. AND Malibu! We drove straight through Malibu.

Okay, from now on, I'm taking the camera everyplace we go.

DH thinks I'm weird because I try to do this as often as possible. I took pix and video of us putting together our new fire bowl. He seems exasperated some days but when I told him I had more approvals last night, he was did a little happy dance for an extra $100 later in the month.

It's a good thing too since I was out of a job for 2 mos and we had a new stray dog show up that needs to be vaccinated and spayed. I had hoped some one would claim her but after two weeks.......... We rescue unwanted pets so it's second nature to us to help a critter that just shows up at our house. We've been able to return quite a few to their families, had to refer a few to animal control due to temperment or injuries (the only way to have some one prosecuted for neglect/abuse ) and we've adopted several as well. This one may be an adoptee, she's very sweet and loves our family already. I'll have to do expo just to pay for their food and vet care..........

Oh boy. Has anyone uploaded videos to the wrong acct? I just did that. I was logged into my acct and uploaded 2 of DH videos. I contacted them and told them but will they just reject them? I cant believe I did that. Not 2 seconds before I started uploading I said to myself to make sure I log into his acct then my daughter came out and asked me to please make her brother stop using her bathroom because he doesnt lift the seat and I totally got distracted. Oiiy.

Yes, I did this! I did 6 to the wrong account (mine), emailed them and they rejected. I then uploaded them to DH's account (where I wanted them) and they were approved, so it is not a wasted video.

When we went looking for our ticket stubs when we first heard that we needed them for expo, I was wondering how close to the camera we had to show these stubs. Do you think expo thought your ticket stubs were shown too far away? I have no idea, but it is just a thought. tink
