Another waitlist question--Success!!--see last post.

We just bought at BLT.

We want to go to WDW July 16-23 and (no surprise) couldn't book a 7 day stay at BLT this close in. We were able to get the 16th-17th at BLT (2BR LV) and 18th-22nd at AKV (2BR sav Kidani). We are currently waitlisted for the 18th-19th at BLT with the intent of doing 4day/3day split at BLT/AKV.

Since I can have two active waitlists, I thought it would be a good idea to have one for the 18th at BLT and one for the 18th-19th. This way, I'd hope at worst to end up getting a 3day/4day split. MS told me this wasn't allowed but that I could call back intermittently to see if the 18th was open and add one day that way.

What is the reason for not allowing this sort of waitlist?

If you just bought directly through Disney, have you contacted your guide to see if they could help you get the entire stay at BLT or AKV? Sometimes they can work a little magic on your first stay if you buy directly from Disney.

Yes, my guide did all that she could. We
initially had a 7 day stay at AKV. I elected
to do the split stay wanting to stay at
least part of the time at BLT.

The reason seems only to be a change from a couple of years ago when a day by day waitlists were allowed and now they are not. That is when they also limited to 2 waitlists. You might be best off just doing a waitlist for the 18th and if that fills call and see if the 19th is also available or then set up a waitlist for th 19th. That way you'll have a better chance of getting at least a 3rd day at BLT.

We're now confirmed for 4 nights BLT LV 2BR dedicated 7/16-7/20 and 3 nights
at AKV Kidani SV 2BR dedicated for 7/20-7/23.

Just wanted to update so others in similar situations can be optimistic.

That is awesome. You are going to have a blast. Remember to keep hidrated. I have never been there in the summer, but we do love Kidani. Take advantage of that pool.

SSR could be a better place for a romantic weekend. You have the spa (very romantic), you have DTD (dining, shopping, movies), you have the Turf Club.

I agree! Don't count out SSR for a romantic resort. We find the grounds, landscaping and the beautiful views there very relaxing and romantic.

The suggestion by kat4disney to wait list one day at a time to extend
my stay at BLT I believe was right on.
