Another wait list question...

We are currently holding a reservation 11/15-11/19 at VWL on points, and the night of 11/20 on cash. 11/20 was not available, and I didn't want to wait list yet b/c I had other wait lists I wanted to put in for first.

SO, we are waitlisted at BCV 11/15-11/20 and also BWV for the same nights. I have two questions:

1) The MS rep told me that there are 3 booking categories for the BCV 2 BR's. I thought there was only 1 b/c there are no preferred views? Anybody know anything about this? This threw me b/c I would have to waitlist each individually, and don't know which ones are more likely to come through.

2) Since I am willing to pay cash for 11/20 if need be, would my chances significantly increase if I only waitlist 11/15-11/19 and hold the night of 11/20 on cash? I know 4 days are obviously more likely than 5, but not sure how that applies to a Saturday night, especially the saturday night of Thanksgiving week?

Thanks

BCV 2 bedrooms can be dedicated or lock-off, and I think dedicated with 2 queen beds.

Can't help with your 2nd question!

Correct - those are the 3 categories for BCV 2BR's.

Lock-off
Dedicated with bed and sofa bed.
Dedicated with 2 queen beds.

Currently holding reservation for 2 BR Lockoff at VWL mid August!:cool1:Can't wait to try VWL..I just waitlisted for a Dedicated 2 BR which I prefer..
What are the chances of getting a Dedicated 2 BR at VWL summertime??
No big deal I guess if I get it I get it..Are there alot of 2 BR dedicated units?

Also, I am correct that you can rent the small boats right at the Wilderness Lodge and use them on Bay Lake....Called a Sea Racer right? Read somewhere that they are fun to rent there as there is alot of "room to navigate" on Bay Lake...Rented them once on Crescent Lake, but not that much room to navigate....

THANKS MUCH!:thumbsup2

VWL has a lot of dedicated 2 bedrooms, but when I wanted one for Halloween weekend at 7 months, I couldn't get it! Best wishes to you on your waitlist! In the end, I waitlistd for a Treehouse for that weekend, and that came through, and my family is excited about that.

It's been a long time since we rented the little boats at WL area, but yes, there is lots of room to navigate them, and it's lots of fun!!!!

Hopefully I understand your 2nd question. Yes, a wait list for 4 nights would probably be easier than 5 nights, but as far as cash, you would have to make sure that the night of the 20th would be available for cash at the resorts you are wait listing.

Right now, you have VWL for all the nights--points and cash. If you only wait list at other places for only some of those nights, you could end up with your wait list coming through and then finding out that the 20th is not available via cash.

I would put in the wait list for all the nights and then call periodically and see if some of the nights open up and try to fill your new request that way.

Good luck!

That makes perfect sense. However, I don't understand this part: " would put in the wait list for all the nights and then call periodically and see if some of the nights open up and try to fill your new request that way."

Are you saying if any of the 15-20th are available, hold those and waitlist the rest? But then I would have two reservations at once (VWL and BCV)...and I don't think I'd have enough points. Is that the key, to have enough points? When I called yesterday, the 15th, 18th and 19th were all available. I was tempted to get those and waitlist the 16th and 17th, but was afraid if I canceled WVL and left those two nights in the middle of the reservation with nothing, I might be stuck with nothing.

I guess what I'm asking is, in order to do what you're saying is it contingent on having the points to have concurrent reservations?
