Another wait list question?

I'm hoping to take a quick kids trip to Disney in June. I'm in the final process of closing on a BWV resale but don't have points yet to make a reservation.

I had my sister ( who's a member ) call to see what was available for my dates. All they have available right now is SSR, which is fine, but I'd really like OKW if it comes available.

Question is, if I book SSR and OKW opens up and my ressies are moved via waitlist, will the extra points needed for SSR go to holding as the reservation is coming up quickly. Or since Disney is doing the waiting list, will they just go back to being 08 points?

( BTW, my sister can't lend me the points for my June ressie as she's already made ressies for me in May and now she's short until I can pay back her points until after closing )

If the reservation is cancelled or changed 30 days or less before the reservation, the extra points will go into holding. A CM mentioned that to me, when I was trying to waitlist into a SV at BWV when I had preferred. Since I couldn't use those points since I already had all vacations booked if the lower point rate became available, I just kept the preferred view. In the end, we had a Village Green view at BWV and it was very nice.

Since I don't want to throw the points away, I guess I'll just stick with SSR if that's all that is available. There will be other times for OKW.
