My DH came home early today....they laid him and three other people off, with no warning whatsoever :sad2: This is our third lay-off in 10 years. I am going through the motions right now, but it just has not sunk in.

My DH has been tearful on and off all day. He loved his job. This really sucks.

I'm so sorry. I'm sending good vibes and positive thoughts that your DH quickly finds a new job that he loves even more. :grouphug:

Wow, been there... so sorry....

I agree with the PP, prayers he will find a job he loves even MORE! :thumbsup2

so sorry, went thru this last year. Keep breathing, it wont last forever..:grouphug:

I am so sorry - I can't imagine.

What line of work is he in?

He's a "techie"...electronics tech. He's done a little bit of everything, but this job he was an installer of audio/visual and teleconference equipment. He built the systems, installed them and trouble-shot them.

Sending prayers and positive thoughts that another job is on the horizon for your DH. We've been there several times in our younger years and know the overwhelming uncertainty. Keep the faith, take things one day at a time, and always believe there's sliver lining in your black cloud.

Marcy, I sent you a PM. Hope things get better, and prayers for this issue and also for your other post.

I'm so sorry to hear that. It always sucks to lose a job, but when it's one you really love it's like the pain is exponentially worse.

Best of luck to your DH on his quest for a new great job!

I feel for you, my DH was laid off at this time last year with no warning. It was scary, but we made it through. He still isn't working steadily, but we are hopeful. It's tough, but just know you will get through it.

I'm so sorry. Three times like that is just awful.

You and your hubby hang in there. It'll get better.

:hug::hug:

It does suck--but sometimes such actions may be for the better.

DH was laid off Nov 1 and got a job offer Dec 1. We took it b/c it was the only one and it has become a possible blessing in disguise---except for the part about it's location.:headache:

In any case--he can be upset for a few days, but his new job is to find a job--anywhere and everywhere in his field!

My husband had a warning. He was told on a Wednesday that his last day would be on Friday. As of that Tuesday COB--his boss and owner of his company wasn't even aware that he would be forced into that decision. It royally sucked big time as we are a single income family.

HUGS.

I am seeing it more nad more in the LV....I work for St Lukes and they laid of 30 ppl at our Miners location, and have stated that we will not get a COL pay increase again this year, and they cut our medication coverage. All to prevent any further layoffs.
