Another urgent Galapagos question....

Cell phone coverage???? I know we can get international calling on our cell phone through Verizon while in Quito, but does anyone have experience with cell coverage in the Gal. Island vicinity itself (ie. on a boat in the water)?

I'm not expecting there to be, but need to confirm one way or the other. Verizon website doesn't show any coverage dots on their web page. My my dd (the one taking the trip) is saying otherwise.

No there isn't any coverage through Verizon. You have to buy minutes through the ship's satellite - or that's what we had to do but we didn't go with ABD but with National Geographic. We bought 50 minutes since we were cruising for 9 days.
