Hello everyone....the last time i posted was in 2006 when I did my trip reports for our holiday that year. We are hoping to be back next year but because of school holidays we are hoping to gor for 4 weeks August 2010. We received so much good information from people here last time so here I am back with more questions.

The first one is does anybody know when flights are available is it about 10 months beforehand.....there will be 9 of us this time so want to book the flights early and then book a villa after that.

The second one - for now - is that I am sure I have seen that WDW tickets are available which do not have to be used within 14 days of the first day of use? Does anyone know if this is so?

Since we will be there for 4 weeks we would prefer tio spread it out a bit more and take the opportunity to rest on in-between days....I think that I read somewhere that these can only be bought at the WDW entrance.

Last time it was myself and DH along with our son and his wife and 2 grand-daughters this time it will be the same but 3 grand-daughters now and also son's mum and dad in law so we will be looking for a 5 bedroom villa.

I know that I'm very early but we like to be organised!

thanks

Yes its usually about 10/11 months out that flights are released id check around September time. I am also waiting for late august/september flights to be released.

I am not sure about the tickets have you looked into getting Annual Passes instead of the UK ultimate tickets as these would also entitle you to discounts etc and I don't think they are to much more than the UK tickets. You also would save parking costs with Annual Passes.

Oh and it's not to early to book and plan I already have ours booked and planned just waiting on flights.

We too are awaiting flights for next summer bookings.

You can buy Magic Your Way disney tickets that offer a variety of options including non expiry facility, these are one's we always use as you can spread the use over more than one holiday.

see. www.mapleleaftickets.com as an example.

thankyou for responding.

I am a little confused about the Magic your Way tickets. If we were to buy the 10 day ones that don't expire would we have 10 seperate days which we could use over our 28 day holiday - without having to go on consecuitive days

can the 'extra admissions' be used for the main parks so we could visit them more than once on different days.

We don't want to save days for another trip but would like to spread them out in order to have 'rest' days - our youngest GD will only be 18 months when we go and as it will be hot August she'll need down time - as will we all I'm sure!!!!

If you do not choose the non-expiry option the tickets will expire 14 days from the day of 1st use.

If you choose the 'base ticket' you can only visit one park per day.
Whereas if you choose the 'park hopper' you could for example go to Magic Kingdom in the morning and then EPCOT in the evening and in doing so just use 1 day of your ticket.

thankyou Johnny

I'm sure that i sound really dense....but if we bought the '10 day hopper without expiry' could we visit the 4 theme parks for 2 days each - using 8 of our days - and then each of the water parks on the other 2 days making 10 - and then fit in the other 'minor' parks on our main parks days - if we had the time - the idea is to spend 2 days at each park so that we can take our time.

We're not too fussed about the 'minor' parks - and since i am planning for everyone I want to get it right!!!!!

Hi again,

No worries , they are complicated I know. :)

Yes you could do that but if you want to visit the Water Parks you would need to buy the Water Park Fun option tickets.
These effectively work off the number of days you buy, so if you buy a 10 day ticket you would also get 10 days at these too:

Downtown Disney Pleasure Island
Typhoon Lagoon
Blizzard Beach
Disney's Wide World of Sports
Disney Quest

eg:
How do I use a MYW ticket with the Water Park Fun & More options?

Now that you have purchased MYW tickets with the WPF&M option, you'll need to know how they work. The easiest thing to do is to think of it as two completely different tickets put on the same card. The theme parks portion is measured in days (one use equals one day) while the WPF&M portion is measured in separate admissions (going to two WPF&M gates on the same day will use two admissions).

For the theme parks admissions:
1) You get admission to any of the four WDW major theme parks for the number of days you bought your ticket for. You do not have to go to a theme park on consecutive days.
2) If you purchased the Park Hopping option, you may visit more than one theme park on any day and it will consume only one day's admission from your ticket. If you have not purchased the PH, you must choose a single theme park you wish to attend that day. You may leave and return later that day TO THE SAME PARK if you desire but you cannot enter another theme park on the same day.
3) If you do not purchase the Park Hopper option, you cannot use another day's admission to visit a second theme park on the same day you went to another.

For the WPF&M admissions:
1) You get a set number of admissions to the minor parks that mirrors the length of your MYW ticket in most cases. You will get two admissions with a 1 or 2 day ticket, and on all other MYW tickets you will get the same number of admissions as the number of theme park days on your ticket. Example: a 5 day ticket has 5 admissions, a 7 day has 7 and a 10 day has 10.
2) These WPF&M admissions do not allow park hopping even if you added the park hopper option to your ticket. Each time you enter a minor park on any given day, you will use another WPF&M admission. The exception is that you are also allowed to leave and return TO THE SAME WPF&M PARK on the same day and not use a second admission.
3) You do not have to use a theme park admission on the day(s) you wish to use a WPF&M admission.

For both kinds of admissions:
1) You have 14 days from first use of the ticket at ANY turnstile to use all of the admissions on both portions unless you have purchased the No Expiration option.
2) The ticket must be used by the same person on all days. Ticket tagging (biometric finger scanning) is attached to the ticket at the first use to tie the ticket to that person

Have you thought about the UK 21 day ticket - not sure how it compares to a 10 day MYW ticket - but you would get 21 days unlimited entry to any of the parks (including water parks) - if you got there and waited a few days before going it would last most of the holiday then.

Pleased to see you have got another trip planned.:goodvibes

thankyou everyone for your responses.....especially Johnny I finally managed to get my head around the 'Magic your Way' tickets.

The tip from Mrs Doubtfire was vey interesting...on checking it seems that we could buy the 21 day ultimate ticket for around the same price if not less than the 10 day 'Magic your Way' non expire option so even if we did not use it every day it would still work out for us.

I would never have thought of that...and that is why I spend so much time reading this forum thankyou!!
