See article on CNN re Rock n Roller Coaster - <a href="http://www.cnn.com/2006/US/06/29/coaster.death/index.html" >"Here"</a>

That's so tragic... That's my dd8's favorite rollercoaster.

My DD6 has always wanted to go on this ride but has been too short; when we go in August she will be able to ride it for the first time.

However, articles like this really do make you stop and think.

Our thoughts are with the family.

How sad :sad2:
DD is desperate to be tall enough to ride this coaster.

It saddens me to hear news like this. I can’t imagine what the family is going through right now.
However, articles like this really do make you stop and think.
It scares me to think about it, I know it doesn’t seem that long ago when they had those two accidents on Mission Space. I guess when you think about how many people ride these, is it only a small minority. I guess it is always best to be cautious and always know your limits and remember to read the warning signs; they are there for a reason!

A damn shame...I really hate hearing of this kind of tradgedy.

Is it worse, same or not as bad as the HULK over at US.

We [9,13,15...oh and 38  ] reckoned RR was boring. A good build-up and launch but that's all - the main ride was very tame and not a patch on a Hulk experience.

I think the Hulk is much more intense personally.

It does make you stop and think as it could be that any one of us, or our families, have an undiagnosed cardiac problem which could affect us badly on this type of ride. A sobering thought.

This is such sad news but also very frightening. My eldest son who will be 14 when we go next year had to have major heart surgery at birth and I know for a fact he will not listen when I tell him what he can and can't do. His cardiologist has told him what sports he is able to participate in at school and which sports he should not participate in but Glen will not listen because he 'feels OK' and loves doing them. He will have a check up next June before we travel in October and I must remember to ask advice but I can forsee arguments about not letting him go on certain rides if there is a risk. I feel really sorry for him as its our first visit and there's so much to experience that he may not now be able to.

how awful, its my 10yr old DDs favourite ride, it really makes me feel sad for the family.

the ride is indoors but when you are on it, it feels no way as fast or as high as the hulk and you dont get thrown around so much.

So sad, makes me wonder how many more there might be coming - Disney seems to be having an unlucky spell right now doesn't it? Praying that this is the last.

ITA, my ds was diagnosed with a heart murmur at only a few months, he will NEVER, ride an intense ride with my permission, and I always discuss any problems that may occur, having said that, heart murmurs are largely undiagnosed, many of you will have them without knowing, its such a terrible shame and a tragic accident. I do hope people don't start jumping on the 'Its all WDW fault, they should have stopped him from riding etc, etc'

it is very sad, and I agree with the above.

Things like this probably happen at theme parks all over the world, though probably are not mentioned as much as when it happens at WDW as it is one of the most popular family destinations, with more visitors, for example if this had happened at a theme park else where in the USA, we would not be talking about it now, would we?.
