Gregory Hines passed away yesterday. He was 57 years old and the cause was given as cancer.

I always enjoyed his acting and I really loved how he brought back dance, particularly tap, to the pop culture.

He'll be missed. I hadn't even heard that he had been ill. :(

Wow, I didn't even know he was sick.:( He'll be missed.:(

Wow.. that's a surprise. He'll be missed. :(

I still remember the TV salute to Sammy Davis, and how Gregory Hines danced for him. It even got Sammy out of his chair to do a bit of tap himself.......

Another irreplacable artist lost......... :(

Just saw that Desnik had posted this earlier but it had gone to page two. Sorry to start a double-thread.

Wow, I too did not even know that he was sick. Great performer who will be missed. They have just recently been re-running those epsiodes of the TV show Will and Grace which he guest stared on. I thought he was so funny in that role. :(

I didn't know he was sick either.:( He seemed to have a great sense of humor in everything I saw him act in. I remember him from Will & Grace and I thought on the show that he looked tired. I figured he just had a lot of things going on-acting and dancing wise.:(

That is so sad and a total shock! He was a great dancer and pretty funny too.
