Another successful Halloween!

Our turnout continued the downward trajectory.

Our street used to see so many more kids but in the 17 years we have lived here the nearby kids have become young adults.

The back half of the neighborhood is much newer and has families in an earlier phase of life so they still see a large number of trick or treaters.

Still had a great time hanging out with the neighbors. There were 22 adults sitting around the firepit last night eating the candy everyone had brought.

We had a huge downpour hit in the middle of trick or treat night, so it ended early here. Even though it rained on and off all day (before the downpours), I somehow got 30 hardy trick or treaters (usually get 50), so it was still a good night.

And my kids made out in only an hour of trick or treating (since dad was not gonna stay out in the monsoon) - I love my townhome neighborhood!

I had candy for 60, ended up with between 65-70. Fortunately I had some fruit roll up type things in the house that younger DD likes so I used those as backups.

We had a drizzle to start, but it cleared up 15-20 into the 2 hour window and it was a nice night. Unseasonably warm for here. Enjoyed the neighbors.

$20+ in candy, I had 6 last night. Tomorrow it gets dumped on the breakroom table as I don't want it in my house.

Wow! Great and spooky house!

It rained here, bringing the chances of seeing trick-or-treaters from slim to none. My cousin took my younger cousin to the next town over to trick-or-treat because they go all out there and even in the rain there were lots of kids.

We had about 35. I was prepared for 60. I prebag several mini bars in one bag. If needed , I had bags of cheezit somethings...like puffed or something. Anyway, in the middle we had a medium rain. I gave kids double during that time. So still had a few bags left.

I would love to do it up like that for halloween, but my neighborhood jsut doesn't have many kids or trick-or-treaters at this time. A lot of hte houses don't participate - I would, but I know kids don't want to go a block or two out of the way for one house. Ah well.

Look your spooky house 👻🎃💀 Halloween is lots of fun.

We had lots of kiddos this year including 6 different hayrides in the neighboring area. It seemed like old times!

Went through 2 big Costco bags. I came home from across the street to refill my bowl, let the dog out and in, and during that time some kids emptied the bowl. I brought it inside and turned the light off. This was around 6:30 so it would’ve been emptied by TOT’s anyway. It was insane here this year, town was nice and provided crossing guards and police officers.

I wasn't sure how many we'd get, but we are right up the road from an elementary school. There is a sidewalk but only on the opposite side of the street; and few streetlights; it gets DARK. We had kids from about 6pm (still light out) to about 8:30pm. I left the light on until 9pm, just in case there were any stragglers.

I had 126 'full size' candies (KitKats, Reese's, Hershey bars, Skittles (3 kinds), Starbursts (3 kinds), and M&Ms (3 kinds); plus a bag of Smarties for littles; 20 bags of chips (Rap Snacks, salt & vinegar); and 20 prepared allergy goodie bags with fingerlights, slap bracelets, and Kawaii Halloween glow in the dark squishes (and extras of all those). We ended up handing out 4 goodie bags, plus we did one fingerlight/bracelet/squish with a candy bar, and had about 70 T-o-T'ers get those; and 2 young men who were so excited about the chips, they got 2 bags each.

Only one rude parent in the bunch ("I want a candy bar; go get me one" to her daughter when the child showed her mom she got a full size candy bar; the mom was in my driveway, and I had a couple more kids at the door, so I was right there and heard her.) The girl came back and said "I want a candy for my mom"; no please or thank you either time. Kid was about 3. I was nice and did give the girl one for her mom, but it irritated me.

Our turnout continued the downward trajectory.

15 years and never has a trick or treater ventured up to our door. granted, if the loooooooooong walks down unlit/unpaved driveways to access the homes in my neighborhood hadn't established it as undesirable on halloween the 'nail in the coffin' occurred when the surrounding area was featured in some gruesome izombi episodes :crazy2:
