I have been watching Craig's list in my area hoping to score a stroller at a reduced price. I have found a few that intrigue me, but need some expert advise. My daughter will be 4 when we go to WDW. She is nearly 40in tall and currently 38lbs. The stroller will be purchased exclusively for this trip as we rarely use one anymore. Here are my options...

Peg Perego Aria 2007 model
Peg Perego Plinko P3 2007 model
Maclaren Quest Sport
Maclaren Volo-Carbon

I know many of you are Maclaren devotees, but even used many of these are over $100 and was hoping to spend less than that. Please let me know what you would do with these four choices.
Thanks,
Cris

I still had my stand by Dalmation print Graco that I tried to get my ds and dil to take for grandson last month. They spent the money for the Mac as the dgs does like breaks. He is not a long walker and no one can carry him.

4 years old very tall about 45 lbs. DS did not get the VOLVO, I think it was the Quest. suppose to be for up to 55 lbs BUT dgs shoulders are tight in it already I never would have paid that much for a stroller for a 4 year old.

Check the consignment shops, yard sales. I know my dgs was tall for the hood on my Graco Dalmation, but heck the shoulder room, butt area is large enough for a large child to sit. Plus it was used heavily and went many trips to Disney. DD is now 13. It is still in great shape, but is bright Dalmation Print, lol.

they were oh that is an UGLY thing...well it was free and it fit him.
Ultimatly, the advice was the MAC WAS for a larger child and many had children that did fit. Ours did not for the cost paid.

It was the largest waste of money ever spent.

I dont have any Pegs, but I do have the Volo and the Quest Mod. Love them both. We bought the Volo especially for Disney for my then 6 year old. She fit perfectly and used it when she was 7 too. Only for jumping in and out when she was tired and late at night for the long walk to the busses. It pushes like a dream even with a big kid in it. I would think the Volo would be fine for a 4 year old. It doesnt recline, but at that age you probably dont need it for napping.

I bought a cheap even flo one at Wal Mart for my 4 year old. I'll probably keep it was we have a younger child but if I were you I would just get a nice cheap one, maybe $40? They won't be in it enough to justify a high end model.

If the stroller is exclusively for this trip, you could just rent a Baby Jogger City Mini for $70 for the week from Orlando Stroller Rentals. Your daughter would fit easily in it and the sun canopy is awesome - that's one of the more important things in my book when it comes to the Florida sun.

From the list you've given, I'd skip the Volo only because it doesn't recline and all your others choices do.

Good luck whatever you decide!

Re the evenflo one from Walmart:
Did you just get that one and does it fold up small? I've just started looking for a cheapie for my 5 year old who may give out with walking. She's right at 40 pounds but I just want something inexpensive that we can toss in the car for the ride down and just leave at Disney for someone else to use as we'll never use it again. I need it to fold up small though -- we have a small car!

We bought a Volo just for Disney for our very tall, 55 lb 7 year old. She fit great! (I did remove the sun shade, as it was pushing against her head). The best part was that it pushed like a dream!!!! And it seemed taller, so that I did not have to bend over to push the handles. We had various umbrella strollers in the past for Disney, including the one pictured above for about $40 from Walmart, but for bigger/heavier kids the pushing was difficult. After a day in the parks with the Volo, her dad and I looked at each other and said "wow, pushing this new stroller was soooooo much easier--we shoulda got one of these years ago!"

I had read on the Dis so many times about the Macs and people raving and could not justify spending that much on an umbrella stroller, but wow, now I am a convert!!! We loaned it to friends last week for Disney with their six year old, and they said even their nine year old got in and rode a few times and it still pushed easily.

I got the brand new volo for $65 earlier this year by following a link I found recommended here on the Dis.

Just my 2cents.

Good tip about Orlando stroller Rentals -- that looks like a good option! Have you used them before? Are the strollers in good condition? I love that they deliver right to your resort.

I used them last time and they were fabulous!!!! Stroller also comes with a sign that has your name on it so it is easy to identify. Top notch company! I am using them again in August!!

My 3 yo DD is similiar in height and weight to your DD. I don't have any of those strollers, but I have tried a few out with her recently. She seemed a bit tight in the Aria but she fit decently into the Pliko.

I really did like the Mac. It "drives" great with a larger child in it. But I wasn't crazy about the Volo. I prefer to have a bit of recline in my stroller in case my DD gets a bit sleepy and needs to rest.

I did end up renting from Orlando Stroller rental for our Sept. trip. In my case, I needed a double and it was the best deal going. I can't speak to the quality of the strollers as I haven't seem them. But the Baby Jogger single they have is fantastic. They sell it at Babies R Us so I took my DD for a test drive. She fit great in it and we both loved the huge sunshade. I can also say that OSR has been fantastic during my numerous emails!!

One other poster mentioned she took her child for a test drive in one at the store, and now that she mentioned I recall doing the same thing when it came to getting car seats. We took our son with us to make sure what we picked fit him properly. If you have a Babies R Us near you try out what you can in the stores and hopefully that will help with your decision.

I have an 8 year old 2001 Peg Pliko, and a 4 yo daughter who might be about the same size as yours. I know that she's 39 lbs, but I'm not sure of her height (she seems tall, and she will be 5 in November). She still fits fine in our Pliko - if you aren't into Macs, I would check out the Pliko.

I am actually considering tossing the Pliko (I was only keeping for our next trip and it doesn't fold well anymore which frustrates DH), and renting from Orlando Stroller Rentals mainly for the convenience. DH likes the idea of not lugging a stroller through the airports since we only need it for the parks (she'll be 5 at the time of our trip). I would consider this, too - if you don't think that you will need the stroller elsewhere, renting might work for you, too.

My friend rented a double from OSR and loved everything - service, stroller, etc. She said that it was at the resort when they checked in, and they just left it at the front desk when they check out.

Have a great trip!

I tried them all except the Volo with my niece last year (44" and under 40lbs).

The Aria was too tight to buckle.
The Triumph and Quest were fine but didn't have all the features (Quest did but was more $) that the Perego P3 had. She also had more room in the P3.

We bought the P3 from www.albeebaby.com and had it shipped to the resort.
