Is 7 too old for a stroller?
Last time we went he had just turned 5 so he was in the stroller. Now our 3YO will be in one but I am wondering if we should plan on one for him just in case he gets tired of walking or wants to sleep?
Part of me thinks 7 is way too old for a stroller but then again he could get very tired there.
Any suggestions?

we always rent at least one stroller while we are there, usually a double and even my nephews who are 7 and 10 will end up sitting in them from time to time. We don't usually take breaks or anything so they get tired of walking. I think for everyday use 7 is too old for a stroller but I don't think for Walt Disney World

I agree w/ pp.... WDW is different than every day and we'll be taking a double and single in June so that my 7 yr old will be able to rest if she needs to....

I think its really a question of if your child will be needingin one everyday at that age. When our oldest was 6 he only used one once on the day that we didnt take any kind of break. If you're only going to use it once or twice, then just rent, but if your child cant make it through the local mall on an all day shopping spree or something similar, then you may want to bring one, just for the cost.

I think 7 is too old for a stroller (now someone will scream at me about how I'm a horrible person...) and that you're better off just taking breaks when people are tired. Sit and have a snack or see a show or people watch. Ride IASW- that's a 15 minute sit down right there! :) We did Disney stroller free from the age of 5 and it never hurt us. We went back to the hotel for naps if needed and we took frequent and well-planned breaks if people wanted to be off their feet. We did a LOT of walking and we slept HARD by the end of the day but it was good for all of us.

I think your 7 year old might surprise you by his ability to keep up. :) Kids find amazing amounts of energy at Disney.

I have to agree with mommy2allgirls. My 2 DDs went when they were 8 and 4 and the double stroller worked out great for them. My DW always wants to get the most in each day so either or both of the girls could use the stroller to rest their legs.

Wow, how different everyone's responses are.

When we were there in Dec 2006 DD was just 4 and I bought a new stroller (Maclaren Vollo) to take even though she always walked everywhere we went. I was so glad that we had it because she rode often.... Now our next trip is scheduled for Dec 2008 and she will just be 6. DH and I are talking about taking the stroller again (we still have it in storage).

We stay off property and because the first week of December is shorter hours, we make the most of the parks, and we don't leave for afternoon naps or rest time. The stroller is light weight so we don't mind pushing it empty, but if DD gets tired we have it there for her to ride in.

So, most likely we will take ours for our 6 year old... I would rather have it and not use it then not have it and need it and then have to listen to her cry when she is too tired to walk. (and I am sure that no one around us will want to listen to her whine either)
