Im sure this has been asked before, but my dh and I have just thought about this tonight. We are taking our 13 month old down in November. We took her down in July but only for 4 days, this time we are staying 8 days. Last time we just took down a very basic umbrella stroller, no recline, barely shade. She was able to fall asleep but I bet not comfortably. So my question is which stroller do you bring down and why? Do you lug the big ( i have a Graco travel system) stroller or a travel system? Thank you for all your opinions!

:surfweb: We prefer our full size stroller over the umberlla. To me the full size is easier to push around the parks and we can place our bags and other items in the bottom compartment. The downside to a full size stroller is that it can be cumbersom on Disney transportation:littleangel:

We always take full sized strollers for our kidlets. They are so much more comfortable and worth the extra weight to lug on and off transportation.

Yep!

I would take the full sized one definitely, especially with a 13 month old. Aside from the comfort for your child, I assume you probably have cup holders and extra storage with the big one. :thumbsup2

We're planning a trip in Jan and my youngest will be about 13 months. I got a Maclaren Triumph for the trip. I've been using it since we got it and I love it. I think it will be perfect for Disney. It has a shade, small basket, reclines and folds up really easy. It's an umbrella type stroller and it even has a strap so you can throw it over your shoulder. Oh, and the handles are taller so you don't have to bend over to push it. It's a little pricey (especially when I have had 5 strollers for my 3 girls lol) but I got it used on craig's list for $50. I'm looking for another one for my 2 year old.

We only took the umbrella stroller with our kids. Babies are comfortable in things that adults would never be. Actually I think the little ones like the sling type support of an umbrella stroller, they are very flexible and "bendy" They are much easier to deal with in crowds and for getting on and off the busses.

This is what I was going to suggest as well. I didn't need the recline feature since mine was older. We took the Volo. The taller handles were nice and the fact that it folds down like an umbrella stroller was great for the Disney transportation. And the basket below it is plenty big enough for a small bag and a camera.

awesome thank you for your replies! Now I just have to talk it over and convince Dh

I opt for my DD's comfort over anything else. At that age, they spend alot of time in the stroller, including the occassional nap, so to me, room to spread out, recline and good sun protection are a must. To me, seeing a child scrunched up & slumped over with the sun blasting in their face is the saddest sight.
