Another Stroller "debate"

has anyone done Disney with a double jogger?? My issues is that we'll be using the bus and its bulky and heavy...my other issue is that I use it every day for my business, and I don't want it to get banged up on the plane...plus my DD is 3.5 and while I know she will use it here and there (and maybe more if its crowded just so I can keep tabs on her) I don't know if it'll be worth the aggravation of bringing it along for every outing, although she can get in and out of it very easily. Renting is not an option since at 18 bucks a pop I can buy a decent new side/side umbrella type stroller that reclines with a shade...plus my lil guy will likely take naps in it...which is another score one for the jogger since I know its very comfortable for him...not to mention we have a 2 hour layover in JFK...I need my kids to be abke to be strapped to something so I don't lose them :rotfl: My other option is to buy 2 decent reclining/shaded single lightweight strollers...but then again we're at the cost versus benefit side of the debate....does anyone have any thoughts on how to handle the stroller issue??

PS We're going with a "grand gathering" sized group of people...so in a way the 2 single strollers might be an appealing option for the splintering off aspect...

I was thinking about bringing one but it was too bulky for the car and luggage combined. We opted to buy a double umbrella stroller. We have only used it for WDW and it has worked pretty well for us:)

We're taking our Phil & Ted's w/ doubles kit. 3-wheeled like a jogger, steers/pushes like a dream, etc. However, it only takes the footprint of a single (and functions as a great one, so it's not a 'waste' since we wouldn't use a true double any other time). Most of the time I anticipate using it with our toddler in the main seat and just using the doubles seat to hold the backpack diaper bag. When our 4.67yo wants to ride/nap (hasn't in *ages* but I know she will there), we'll move the baby and wear the diaper bag.

We'll also be there as part of a grand gathering, so I figure we'll have plenty of help on the busses, so I'm not worried.

I took a single jogger last year and it was a nightmare. They don't fold up small enough so it was terrible trying to get it on the trams and inside the monorail. It was also hard wheeling it around stores, I would get stuck alll oaver the place!!!! We ended up leaving it in the car, and rented one at the parks in the end!!! This of course made my older son happy because we rented a double stroller and he didn't have to walk as much!!!!

If you will be with enough people to help you manage 2 strollers, it would be easier than dealing with the huge double jogger.
I only have 1 child, so have no experience having to fold or push a double stroller, but as a fellow patron trying to get on the bus/monorail/tram, I say the smaller the better.

We took our Mountain Buggy Urban double to WDW last week. We had no problems at all, as we were staying at the Poly and used the monorail for most of our transport. The CMs direct you to one of the many HC accessible cars on each train and the double fits in with plenty of room to spare. However, since we had our car, we avoided the bus like the plague (didn't try it even once) and drove when we went to Animal Kingdom, MGM and DTD.

If you haven't flown with the jogging stroller before, I'd check with the airline to be sure you wouldn't be charged for it being oversized. Our double jogger is big even when folded up.

We take our double jogger to WDW but we drive. We've been lucky to have AAA parking passes when we went so we can skip the tram and walk from the parking lot. Our stroller fits on the monorail without folding it. The CM's direct you to a spot to wait for a car where it will fit. The only issue is getting through the entry gate at the Magic Kingdom. It is too wide to go through without lifting and turning it so the kids have to get out.

Just got back from Disney in May. Had a 4-year old and 2-year old and we had two strollers, which worked great - for the most part. We liked having the freedom of being able to go separate ways when needed, but the strollers were too big and bulky for the times when we had to ride a bus (not often because we stayed in Poly and used the monorail all days except to AK). Now I know exactly what I want for our next trip in late August/early September - I am going to get two single travel strollers. Not umbrella stollers (I HATE them) - probably something like a Maclaren, but I am still researching. I would definitely not bring a jogger, especially a double jogger!
