Another Storm moving into the North East!

I feel like crying too. I have such a tension headache. We live south of Pittsburgh and lost our power on Friday night. We still don't have power and Allegheny Power is saying it will be back on by Friday. Fortunately my in-laws live 1/2 hr away and they have power. We have been staying with them. But our house is frozen. We went over to check on it yesterday and it was only 42 degrees inside. I am so worried our pipes are going to burst. And now a new storm is predicted for tomorrow. I HATE WINTER!!!!

I can hardly fathom seeing all that snow in person! Good grief!

Well, i guess I am a desert rat at heart....

Again, stay safe and warm!!

No, please dear God, no.

Looks like 5-9 here right outside of NYC, buuuuuuuut Friday night at 11:15 on the news they told us 3-6, and that it was starting around midnight. We got nothing, not even a flurry..so if they can be that wrong a half hour out, I'm not believing anything until I see it.;)

I hope we do get some, my son is itching to use the new snowboard he got for Christmas.

I know! And we're still snowed in from this last storm!! :scared1:

Luckily we have kept our power and have plenty of food, but I have no idea when we'll be able to leave the house.

My dd is supposed to get her braces on Thurs. She had the spacers put on last week. I don't know if the ortho office will be open and if it is I don't know if we'd be able to drive there. :guilty: I'm wondering if it's harmful for the spacers to stay in an extra week or two if they or we have to reschedule our appointment?

Stay safe & warm everyone!

My 17yo is supposed to get his braces off Wednesday. Poor kid has so had enough of 3 years in them.. I think he will start pulling them off himself if they dont come off this week lol

Hopefully they were wrong.. we missed in on Saturday, maybe we will get luck this time again:littleangel:

I'm scared- we got 32 inches and still couldn't get out we live on a hill and a dead end. No plows have come- DH and I had to walk 1/2 mile to mother in laws to borrow her car. :scared1::scared1::scared1:

I seriously am going to be sick if this happens:scared1: Looks like back to work for a couple of overnights again. Our staff is so worn out from the weekend.:guilty:

Where do you live? My husband works in a school district in the south hills that has already called school off for tomorrow. Wondering if they are having power problems also.

We live in Washington. My husband is at our house right now trying to heat it up. We have 2 fireplaces and he has them both burning. Our house was only 38 degrees when he checked it. The prediction for tonight is 7 degrees. I worry about those people in older homes or trailers. Our home is relatively new and we have new windows.

You also run into the problem of where in the heck to you put the new snow. We are in the middle of getting what will probably end up being 9" or so and we are running out of room along the driveway and sidewalks to put the snow. I remember when I was younger they would have trucks come and suck up the snow piled along the curbs so you didn't have this problem. I can't imagine trying to get rid of 40" all at once. We probably have about 40" on the ground right now from the entire winter and there is no place left to put it!

Sounds like me. I'm right where 295 hits 695, on a court.. top of a hill.. I haven't heard a plow at all. It is SO eerie.. there's no traffic on 695, no air traffic, it's reall quiet here. Not even train noises!

10-20 inches last I heard.. We're running out of stuff to drink, we might have to walk down to the Royal Farms half a mile away.

lol....if you have not lived through the blizzard of 1978, then you have not seen a blizzard! lol I was stuck at work for over a week! at age 17 and my work was a hotel on Rt. 128 in danvers....we ran out of everything!

now....THAT was a storm! and I hope we get another one! love it!:cool1:

That is our issue as well. Have plenty of food. But no soda, liquor, or ice. DH finally has power at work. Going to get him to stop for the before mentioned items on his way home:cutie:

DH said one of the neighbors just told him that in an 'average' snowfall the pile of snow that the plow leaves at the foot of your driveway weighs 2700 lbs :scared1::scared1::scared1: Ok, so average around here is 6" or so, multiply that by 5 or 6 where you are and that is a LOT of snow!!

What? With near 3 feet of snow right outside your door? Heck, you have all the water and ice you need. Just stay away from the yellow and brown stuff. :rotfl:

We're hold up in Howard Co. Houses are far apart but neighbors seem to be doing ok. Most of us hire landscapers with plows to dig out our driveways then do the car digging ourselves. We're also fortunate to have some teen boys in the neighborhood who will shovel.

Still I could do without another blizzard. Way too soon. I just hope everyone hangs onto their patience through this next round. Just remember how horrible August heat is when no amount of air conditioning can temper the dripping sweat.
