When you are at SSR, how convenient is it to walk over to DTD and the bus stop there to go to the theme parks? If I don't have a car, would it be better for me to request a studio near a resort bus stop, or a room at the far end so we can walk to the DTD busses? Sorry, I am traveling alone with autistic DS, and would like to plan travel routes ahead of time.

Thanks.

The buses at DTD only go to resorts. The theme park buses leave directly from SSR. Their bus stops are spread out among the different sections and you shouldn't be too far from one no matter where you stay, but you can see the SSR map when you check in and work with the CM to see the best spot for you and your family. It's a short walk to DTD for shopping and restaurants if you're at the closest side of SSR to DTD. If you're at the other end (near the entrance to SSR), it's a short and beautiful boat ride over to DTD. Have a nice trip!

You would want Congress Park if you want to walk to DTD, only about 10 minutes from there. It could be 20 or more from the other locations. The boat is an option only I have never taken it.

The boat leaves from behind the Turf and grill. It is a short ride and goes directly to DTD. We were the only people on the boat but it was a nice ride. The captain gave us buttons with the boat logo on them.

The bus might be faster but the boat is more relaxed.

We found it very convenient to walk to DTD and catch resrt busses for dining. We requested Congress Park. My kids loved the walk.

For both the boat and walking, it depends on where your building is and where you want to end up. Still, nothing is too far to walk but many walks would be further than most would like, esp with children.

Hi,
We recently returned from SSR and stayed in Congress park. What a fab location. Just a 10 minute walk to the market place. 7 minute walk to the main pool and restaurant - although the check in lady told us 20 minutes. The bus stop is the 3rd stop and also the one before the main building on the theme park buses so you can hop on one of those if you don't feel like walking. We never waited more that 10 minutes for a bus and more often than not was less and this was between christmas and new year.
Happy planning.
