I have been to Taronga Zoo, and it was on Pete & Walter's ABD itinery. All of the sea lions in the zoo are those animals who had to be rescued after being washed up on the shores and during the rehabilitation became too attached to humans to be allowed back in the water.
But it is still unfortunate that they are still wild animals with very simple instincts if something happens that frightens them.
