OK so I was thinking that I would be staying at the CCI. HOWEVER, I just bought an entertainment book thanks to Avalon (I figure even if the dates don't work out, I should be able to use some of the coupons).

My questions now are these, HOJO's Website isn't cooperating, and I need to know if this hotel comes with a breakfast, free parking etc? For the people who have stayed at both the HOJO and CCI, which do you prefer???

In case you haven't figured it out, I've never been to DL before and I REALLY want it to be a good time for everyone! Any help and or tips on ANYTHING would really help me out!

Thanks!

HOJOs offers free parking but there is no breakfast available. Don't know if you have children, but HOJOs offers a new pirate themed water play area.

I have stayed at the CCI many times and love it. It has a very nice continental breakfast offering and a dedicated free shuttle, as well as free parking. We will, however, be trying HOJOs this October because I got the entertainment card rate.

I don't think you can do wrong with either one.

We've stayed at Hojo during two trips, but also considered CCI as well. In the end we chose Hojo because we were able to get much cheaper hotel rates and the Hojo Entertainment rate just could not be beat. As well we read their pool area was better and that was a factor for us. There's no breakfast at Hojo but parking is free. I believe breakfast and parking is included at CCI. They both get such good reviews you probably can't go wrong with either, though.

I do not have kids, I'm going with my significant other and another couple. My other question is can you use an entertainment card to book two rooms??

I think this has been the hardest decision I've had to make so far thanks to these boards!!!

I would email Lorealle directly with your questions. Unfortunately, I can't seem to locate her email address. Hopefully somebody else has it handy.

Yes, you can book up to 2 rooms with the ent. card. :thumbsup2

HoJo doesn't come with a breakfast, but they do have a fridge and microwave in the room (deluxe rooms, I don't think standard have microwaves, though they do all have fridges), so you can have your own in the room if you want. We prefer doing it that way, anyway, it's faster and we can get just what we want (usually by having groceries delivered from Albertsons the day we get there). HoJo also has a gift shop that carries staples like milk, juice, bread, peanut butter, cereal, etc.

They also have free parking and free internet. They are marginally closer than CCI (but only by, like, a couple hundred feet).

I think either one would be great, so go with the one where you can get the best price!

To be exact, free WIRED internet. And they have the wire (though if you have a LONG wire and like to sit away from the between-the-beds table with your laptop, bring your own, LOL).

I think that I'll wait a little longer to see what dates Feb has to offer me with the entertainment card and make my decision from there! Thanks :worship: I really appreciate all the help!!!!

I would go with the least expensive, since they seem to be about equal overall. I haven't stayed at HoJo, but I've heard great things about it. If we had to ever stay off campus, we would stay there.

Those are my top 2 hotels (not counting the DLR hotels of course) and I always go with HoJo first. There is no free breakfast but there is free parking. We don't use internet while on vacation but if we need something we go to the lobby at the HoJo, they have free computers there. :) There is a connection for the internet at both the CCI and HoJo we've just never used them. :) I go with HoJo first because of the Ent. Rate, if I can't get that we go to CCI because they have the breakfast (and it's good) and they have a free shuttle. LOVE the free shuttle! LOL Otherwise they seem to be very comparable hotels. :)

I have never stayed at either, but from what I have learned and decided from this board...
I would go with Hojo if the Ent Rate is available.
Otherwise, with only adults I would go with CC

I agree, bring a longer cord if you have one. I wasn't crazy about the set up. Would have been better if it was over by the table. It hardly reached good on the bed!

For HoJo, parking is not only free, but they allow you to park your car there as long as you like the day you check out. You'll pass Mimi's Cafe (ginormous fresh muffins mmmm), McDonald's, sbux-style coffee shack (can't remember name) & Captain Kidd's if you need breakfast/coffee as you walk toward the crosswalk.

I have stayed at both CCI and HOJO's. I would pay full price for HOJO. CCI has never had a special rate that I have seen. As a DIS member you are entitled to a I think 15% discount at the least from HOJO. I found the staff at HOJO to be very informed and there to please wether it was for questions, or room requests. The employees seemed to like their job and that showed :). The walk is near the same distance from both hotels to DL. The conveience of having two restaurants --one across the street and the other half a block down was nice.
They do not have a continental breakfast. There is a convience store located in the firest building that sells juice, rolls - small packages of cookies and crakcers and so on. You get a free paper each day -- Just need to get it your self from the store.

I have not tried out the pool or play area yet but in looking at the swim pool it was large with lots of lounge chairs in area. ( that is a msut for me ).

The rooms in my opinion are bigger then at CCI. The rooms at CCI are nice looking. The grounds at CCI are well groomed. There is a bus that is only for CCI guests that take you to and from the park twice an hour. It is very regular. It will even pick up at back of the resort if your room is all the way back there. I did not find the staff to be friendly. I did actually witness the staff being very rude to a guest not once but twice :(. And not the same quest. Guess someone was having a bad day :(.

HoJO rooms are very good size. They are indoor corridors, but in small buildings. The halls were not humm fancy-no that is not word--they were clean but looked dated. If you were to see that and never see inside a room you might think the rooms would be similar---- NOT-- the rooms are bright --clean, oh wow what can I say about the beds -- hummmm wow best mattress ever. Bathroom was bright --plenty of light --and VERY VERY CLEAN :).

House keeping staff must have been wearing invisible cloaks--- never saw them cleaning room but every day we would come and go at different times and no matter when we left, when we got back our room was clean and made up. :). How do they do that. Oh, Yes they earned a nice tip on our departure.

The grounds are so manicured. Again you know there are ppl doing the work to keep it looking that nice but I never did see anyone.

Hope this helps.

Happy Planning
Patty

But unless you have a cast iron stomach I absolutely do not suggest eating at Captain Kidd's...it's just....ummmm...yuk....

On the other hand, the proximity of Mimi's to the HoJo is a big plus in my opinion. Their food is really good and the prices are more than fair. I can hardly wait to order the Quiche Lorraine next month......

Oh ya, Mimi's is so much better than Captain Kidd's. Millie's is actually very good also and they are cheaper. :)
