Hi! I've been lurking here for a few months and cannot tell you all that I've learned already. Thanks! I am looking into planning our first WDW vacation for November 2003.

My question is that I've read that rollaway beds are available at a couple of moderates (CSR and CBR, is that right?). Are they available for use by a 5th person, which would be a child, or only for 4 where two of those people do not want to share a bed? I know that POR has the trundle, but being from south LA, I was hoping for a different theme.

Also, if the rollaway is available, when the charge is added on, would it just be better to spend a little more and stay at one of the deluxes that allow 5 in a room? I'm thinking that Swan/Dolphin or CR may be in the budget, but the beach atmosphere of CBR is really appealing to me right now.

OK, I think that's long enough for a first question. And just to clarify, I'm not looking to "illegally" put 5 in a room which accommodates 4, just wondering how the rollaway beds are used.

Welcome! :)

I have stayed at CBR twice, I LOVE this resort! :)

This past February I was there with my brother, sister in law, and niece, so we paid for a roll away bed. The roll aways at CBR are to accomodate a 4th person who doesn't want to sleep in the same bed with someone else, as was the case with us. My niece slept in the roll away all of our stay except for the first night, I slept in it, and it was VERY comfortable.

The charge for the roll away bed is $20 or $25 per night, sorry can't remember right now. But, for example, going strictly by rack rates (not using a discount), in regular season you'd pay $154 for a standard view room at CBR (or any other moderate), and at the least expensive deluxe resort, The Wilderness Lodge, you'd pay $229 for a standard view room. That's a difference of $75 per night, and you cannot rent a roll away bed at the Wilderness Lodge (this is due to less space in the room because WL has queen beds, CBR has full sized, rooms at both resorts are the same size). So even if you paid the additional $25 per night for a roll away, the Wilderness Lodge is still $50 a night more. Of course, that's not a huge difference, but it can add up.

I hope this info is helpful. Happy planning! :)

Rollaway beds are $15/night (plus taxes). Room occupancy limits are still in place (4 + 1 child under 3). You have to call housekeeping from your room to get a rollaway, CRO/WDTC will tell you they aren't offered.

Thanks so much for the info! I'm glad to get that question answered as that narrows down the resorts we can stay in, being a family of 5.
