I have noticed in recent years that Koreans have been immigrating to my area and starting Korean Presbyterian churches. I don't know anything about the faith except that its a Christian faith. What's it all about? Is it a popular faith in Korea? How come?

Just wondering!

I don't know the answer to your question but when we moved to Texas in April, I was left scratching my head over the "First Korean Baptist Church" here.
But not surprised, since people live here from all over.

"Presbyterian" is a form of government. Churches are divided into groups called "Presbyteries", and each church is ruled by elders (sometimes called "presbyters.")

There are many different presbyterian denominations, which share that type of government but not necessarily the same doctrines.

Two of the most common in the US are the PCUSA and the PCA. The PCUSA might be characterized as more liberal, and the PCA as more conservative.

I was raised Presbyterian. Definitely the liberal kind. My dad's family is methodist and when we would go to their services, there wasn't much difference. Just the way you say the Lord's prayer. We debt and everyone else seems to trespass. I think there is something different in how the Presbyterian's believe in reincarnation, but I can't remember what exactly it is. Been a long time since Sunday school.
