Sorry but I was wondering about this:

We are looking to Refi our house and part of the paperwork that the company wants us to fill out includes not only my social security number and DH's but they also wanted not only our bank information but our account numbers.

DH seemed to think this was the norm but i have real issues with not only providing my social security number but also my bank account number.

Is this normal?

thanks
Lara

PS-this would be a refi with my current lender. We just had to fill out paperwork to get the process started.

Yes, completely normal. This is to verify who you are. Believe me, you don't want to get a bill for someone with your same name!

you will have to give them any bank accounts, cc accounts and balances, last years tax returns, copies of your w'2's, etc. this was also refinancing with current lender. even though our new loan will be less per month, they are more careful about making sure you can afford the loan now a days.

thanks! i didn't fill out any of the paperwork for the last refi but this time DH had me do it because i have better handwriting! LOL

Lara

Yes, they'll need it to run all the checks on you as well as check your account balances and credit reports. We are refinancing as well. Just had our appraisal on Wed.
