Another reason to quit smoking, please!

I am sorry.

I've watched my MIL and my aunt (recent) pass away from lung cancer.
Having said that, I too am in my first week smoke free...It's difficult but I think of them and it certainly helps.

I'm so sorry. I also wish that everyone would quit but they have to decide that it's the time first.

I'll be saying prayers for Carol's recovery. It's an awful disease that devastates families. Lost my DH to it & was left alone to raise our 3 children. Believe me, smoking isn't worth it.

Prayers for all of you who are trying to quit, I hope you have the strength to never pick up another cigarette.

I heard from my friend via email tonight; it's lung cancer that has spread to the liver and ribs. Not a very promising diagnosis, her mom is in her early '70's.

She said she can't call me because all she does is cry when she talks about it. I'll try to just keep in touch via internet at this point.

My friend never married and still lives at home with her parents. I know firsthand how exhausting it is to try to have a career and take care of a sick parent. I was married when my dad was diagnosed and I took family leave every other week and shared the care-taking with my sisters - it was devastating.
