Known for a long time that my daughter and I want to buy in. We would like our home to be BR. However it is very hard to find a small resale contract there. We usually travel Spring Break week due to the fact that my daughter is a school principal. Any chance we could find a studio there if we choose another home resort and book at 7 months?

See attached file. Caveats:

1) I didn't compile it. However, from my own research I believe its efficacy is good.
2) Does not include BLT as compiler owned there.
3) Does not include full Poly.
4) This is historical data only, taken from 2015. It does not mean a room will be available, and over time booking patterns will change. Having said that, I personally have found it pretty accurate so far over the last year for current bookings.

Never buy a resort you don't want to stay at if you cannot change at seven months out. If you want Boulder Ridge during spring break, you probably need to own there.

I am a great believer in buying at a resort you wouldn't mind staying at (which for many people is any) having done research on whether you are likely to be able to book others at 7 month window. Reason I bought was not to go back to the same place over and over, but to go to a different resort as often as possible. I researched this first and determined that during my pattern of travel, off DVC season, in a 1 bed, it is quite easy to get virtually any resort at 7 months. I mainly travel August. If I wanted to go busy season, or times such as Thanksgiving etc in a studio, this wouldn't be possible and I probably would not have bought. Having determined this, it made every sense to buy the best value contract, Saratoga. If one year (or more) I decide to go when busy, would it bother me stopping there? Certainly not. But it would have made zero financial sense given my intended useage to spend 50- over 100% more buying where I'd most like to stay in those busy times I may never travel in. If however you have to be at Poly every Thanksgiving, buy where you want to stay. The mantra is repeated often as the number 1 rule, when for some people like myself it would make no sense to follow that advice.
