I am the original long range planner. I have the following Disney trips planned out. All are planned for the end of October of each respective year.
2005 7 night land & sea(already booked)
2006 Disneyland
2007 Disney World
2008 Disneyland Resort Paris
2009 Disney World
2010 Tokyo Disney Resort
2011 Disney World
2012 Hong Kong Disneyland
2013 7 night Disney Cruise
2014 Disney World

There are 4 of us, my wife and 2 boys age 13 &10 currently. My question is, do you think going to the other Disney Parks is worth it, or should we just stay with Disney World?

UMMMMMMM

WOW:eek:

i get laughed at cause my 2 nd counter is long
imagine how long your trip in 2014's counter would be

i love disney world so that's enough for me but if i had a chance to check out the other disney parks i think it would be fun

ummm... can I come with you? ;) I know I'd never be able to afford all those overseas trips. I'd love to visit all the Disney parks, though. If you have the means to visit them all, I'd say go for it! I'll just be satisfied for now if I can make an annual excursion to Florida. :)

oh... and welcome to the DIS! :sunny:

Welcome to the Dis Simzac:wave: With all those overseas locations I think you are smart to plan ahead.

I hope to see DLP and Tokyo DL one day. Jury is out on the Hong Kong park(although certainly there are many other HK sites to enjoy).

DL in Anaheim is DEFINITELY worth it:earsboy:

I can never make it past WDW myself. Every year I think we'll play someplace new and I never can bring myself to do it. I start thinking about all there is to do there instead and book before I realize what I've done. I always worried that other parks just wouldn't be equal. I'd LOVE to go overseas though. I think if you can afford it and plan for it, then DO IT!!!

A good friend of mine went to Disney in Paris and HATED IT! She said it didn't compare at all! Couldn't tell you first hand though, I've never been!

I went to DLP last summer and really liked it! It was smaller than WDW of course but had enough differences to keep it interesting. I actually like BTMRR better there! I say go for it! I'd like to get to all the parks someday too.

Paris is good, just not AS good...

A friend of mine, Lorna, has never been to any Disney park except DLP and therefore practically worships it! My girlfriend and I went after having visited WDW, however, and found it wanting; it's good, just not AS good :)

Parks do differ; Disneyland is the one i want to see as it's the original Walt designed place of magic - plus around 60% of the attractions shared with WDW (Fantasmic!, Small World, etc) are meant to be a fair bit better :)

Tokyo Disney I've heard good things about, especially Disney Sea.

How can u plan so many years in advance?? *work?

I went to disneyland in 1991. It was awesome cuz it was my 1st disney experience, but there is NO comparison to WDW - is much better.

There are so many parks in orlando -disney parks. CA only has MAgic Kingdom i believe (people correct me if i'm wrong) and i remember the Cinderella's castle stinks compared to WDW.

Do u have a site for Paris Disney??

CA also has California Adventure right next door to Magic Kingdom... I've never been there, but we'll be going next month!

I've been to Tokyo Disneyland, but it's been several years ago so I don't remember much about it unfortunately... Hopefully we'll be going there next year sometime.

I think the thing to remember is, keep an open mind! Personally, I don't think ANYTHING will compare to Orlando, but I still would love to visit them all! My feeling is, it's Disney... It must be pretty decent!! :D

The castle in DL is Sleeping Beauty Castle, not Cinderella Castle. Yes, DCA is a short walk from DL's front gates. I grew up on DL, so to me MK at WDW was lacking in the charm and hominess of DL. The smaller scale of DL just seems more "right" to me than the grandness of MK. I loved the other 3 parks, though. I still liked MK, but it just doesn't have the charm of the original. Plus, MK at WDW doesn't have a New Orlean's Square and I think that's one of the most enjoyable spots in all of DL.

I totally agree iceskatejen, I also have been brought up going to Disneyland all my life...I cannot count how many times I have been there. I love New Orleans square, and I feel the charm more in Disneyland too. We went for our first trip to WDW (since we are west coasters, we have always gone to DL) and although I loved it, I also love DL too for different reasons. (WDW has no Indiana Jones!!)
But simzac, honestly, the parks all differ in their own unique ways and that is why I LOVE giving all the parks a try. You will always find things that are just a tad different or completely different so that no park is exactly the same. I think Disney does that on purpose and wants you to see them all!
I have been to 3 out of the 4 now, WDW, DL and DLP and love them all in their own special ways, my goal is to try all the things that are unique to that park in the world, that the other parks do not have. or have a different version of. I love comparing my favorite things about each park. I agree with queencyndy, BTMRR is awesome in Paris, and I also liked the Haunted Mansion better there too...a little more story-lined, and a little more scary...cool!
I also am planning to take the family to Tokyo Disney (maybe wishful thinking), and Hong Kong Disney...definitely in the future. My sister-inlaw is from there, so we will just wait to go over with them after it is open! LOL
Have fun, those look like great trips! Don't hesitate giving the other parks a try, they are all Disney charming, and I have especially heard good things about DisneySea too!
