I've been to Disney several times but only as an adult twice: 10 years ago when a CM friend let us in for a day and this past December. We booked our room through a TA/AAA and got tix through AAA. I've had Disney online accounts for my husband and myself since last June.

My question is- how are you likely to get a pin? Having booked through Disney or just having an online account? Because I've never booked anything directly through Disney at all.

Thanks!

UPDATE: So we just got our first PIN in the mail. Only 10% off rooms April 15-30th. Anybody else gotten this? The interesting part is they specifically said they sent it to us to help us book the trip we wanted for April and I've been saving trips in my online account for April, but we're not going until next April (2013). If they sent us a free dining pin that was good for later in the year then maybe we would think of going again sooner!

Like I said above, we didn't book our last trip through Disney, did it through AAA. Just thought people might like some more clues as to how these PINs get sent out ;)

No one really knows how pin codes get rolled out, some folks get them, some folks don't. We went to Disney 3 times (all booked thru Disney) before we started getting pin codes but once we did, we've been fortunate to get them every year. With that said, several people have reported that they've saved vacation offers on the Disney website and then received a code. I tried that just a couple of months ago. I saved a couple of offers for the month of August, then deleted them after a week. Within two weeks of deleting them, I received a "Game On" pin code via snail mail for 30% off. The offer was specifically for the month of August but then in fine print, it did say to check other dates. Turned out it was good for pretty much the whole year. Was it because of the saved offers? Not sure but I found that interesting.

We got one and have never been to Disney World. I signed up for an account on Disney and requested a DVD about a week or two ago. This past weekend I went into my profile and updated most all information (most of it was blank) such as dates we planned to attend, email address, family members, and preferred contact method. It was probably coincidental, but I received a pin code via email less than 48 hours after updating my profile.
