we have been dvc members for about 4 years now and love it. we have points at bwv, and a few at vb. we enjoy all the dvc resorts.
just got a tremendous rate at okw
for a 2 br for aug through disney cro (they are offering some pretty deep discounts on all disney properties from aug. through early oct).
i have been told by front desk at okw as well as someone from member services, that as long as i have my member id card and i call ahead to make sure the resort pool we wish to visit is not at capacity, we can pool hop... we would not include SAB as part of this, we prefer the quiet pools at the different resorts.
any one have any thoughts as to how accurate this info is? we try to play by the rules...
hope i didn't open a can of worms. but oh well. the cash rate was too good to pass up.. we are going to save our points for another trip when disney doesn't have so many rooms to sell..
sorry this is so long. thanks

The information recently posted on the member's site indicated that we will need a room ID identifying us a DVC Member to pool hop.

If you have permission from CM's at OKW and your DVC membership card and permission from the resort you will hop to, I assume you will be OK. If that's the case, it sounds as though a DVC member not even staying onsite can pool hop.

Good Luck!

doc, thank you for your quick reply. i too was under the impression that you need your resort id saying that you are a dvc member, and that is how we have always done things.
it is apparent that the 2 people i spoke with were mistaken.
i never implied, nor, i think did the 2 cms i spoke with, that any dvc member staying off property who has a valid dvc member id can pool hop. that's ridiculous!
guess we will drop this one, and go back to reading the posts... have fun.
