Another placeholder question

We put a placeholder down on our cruise in January. I am hoping to book our next cruise when the new dates are released. How does it work? Can I book online or do I have to call? If I book online, will the 10% discount be automatically applied?

Also, I am booking myself this time and used a TA before. Do I get to pick a cabin from an available list or are they assigned automatically?

I'm curious how it will work also. We just booked a placeholder with the thinking we will book something for summer 2017 when they are released. I did just check the DCL site and in my Castaway Club page, it shows in the upcoming cruises section, cruise dates of Jan 01 - Jan 04 of the year 2034! It has no other details (itinerary, departure port, ship, stateroom just says GTY). There is a confirm number. So I assume you need to use that in booking an actual date.

Yes, you would use that confirmation number (OP, that's how they know to give you the discount and OB credit; if you make a new booking, it doesn't get any of the OBB benefits). At this time, I believe you cannot modify these types of reservations online, so you would have to call to change it to an actual sail date when the new itineraries are released.

If you didn't assign a TA to your placeholder booking, you would call DCL directly, if you named a TA, you have to have them modify the booking.

OP, You can select your cabin number from those that are available.
