Ok...I was planning on buying hawaiian clothes for the 'tropical deck party' that I knew they did on the 3 day cruise. Now I think it has changed to a pirate party! Do people dress up as pirates? Also, does anyone wear the hawaiian clothes anymore since they did away with the tropical party? :confused3

Thanks!

You will see people dressed as pirates (DH and I did last cruise) and also lots of people in tropical wear. It is a fun night. DH got picked to be part of the show as he was a great looking pirate: Lots of fun. We are looking forward to our next cruise. Probalby will wear tropical wear this time.

Can anyone elighten me where we can buy the pirate gear around the Orlando area. Dont want to bring from England and also dont want to spend too much money. Know you have some wonderful shops and would like to take part and dress up - it sounds fun.
thanks for your help

I put my pirate costume together very inexpensively! I took an old pair of capri jeans and shreaded them at the bottom to give them the worn look. Then, I purchased, for $4, 2 yards of horizontally red and white striped fabric which I will fold several time lengthways and tie at my waist. I have a white peasant blouse which I will wear untucked with the fabric tied over it.

This with some sandels and the $3.99 parrot I got at Hobby Lobby will complete the outfit. All of it is easily packed, won't add any weight to the suitcase, and the sandels I will be wearing anyway!

I did wore hawaiian muumuus on TROPICAL night and also on pirate: night last Summer on the Magic.

Very few people were dressed like "pirates"...but most guests wore the RED scarf DCL gifts you at dinner that night.
Casual attire was very common on pirates night.

Would we look silly if we dressed in costumes as if we were the governor and his wife? We are theater people and recently did Treasure Island, my husband was Squire Trelawny. His costume was somewhat dressy. I thought it might be a nice twist!

We dressed as pirates and had a great time! Our 13 Year old DS did not want to dress up though. The rest of the family dressed up in our finest pirate attire and had fun. There were other people dressed up too but more were wearing tropical type wear.

I think since it is still kind of new a lot of people don't know about it (Except us smart Dis'ers). It is not listed in the brochure DCL sends out with the DOC's.

Dress up have fun..take prisoners..arghhh pirate:
