There is another thread asking about the best spot to watch the Celebrate! parade...but I'm wondering if someone has a suggestion as to where the best spot to catch the Pixar parade is?

Thanks!

Last time we watched it we actually grabbed a seat at one of the tables outside BrrrBank Ice Cream. It was shady and very comfortable.

It is much easiers to find a place for DCA parades. I agree with above BurrBanks is a great place...tables & chairs. Keep in mind DCA does not have "curbs" to sit on, so you are on the flat ground.

Sounds like the perfect time to take an ice cream break!

Thanks for your help!

Oh yeah, and since I'm always looking for a bargain what DD10 and I will do when we get ice cream is I order one of the 2 scoop sundaes and get the sauce(s) on the side. You can substitute any flavor for the ice cream on the menu so say I order the Mocha Sundae - Two scoops of Mocha Almond Fudge, served in a waffle cup, topped with hot fudge, caramel, whipped cream and a cherry. $5.49 but instead of the mocha I'll get one scoop of cookie and creams (for DD) and something for me like Butter Pecan. Since DD doesn't like sauces I get them on the side and ask for an empty cup. Then I take out her scoop and put it in the cup. Then we share the waffle cup (or cone or choc. chip cookies-depending on sundae ordered). This way we both get ice cream for about $5.50 Two single scoops in a waffle cone without any sauces or whipped cream would be $8. We do this almost everytime we get ice cream at BrrrrBank or Gibson Girl in DL. The CMs have never given me any trouble with doing this.

Here's one time when we just shared 2 scoops in a waffle cone. $4.59 for 2 scoops vs. $3.99 for a single. Only 60 cents more for the 2nd scoop-what a deal! Note the cup of ice cream on the side.

Mocha sundae with substitutions and sauce on the side. So good!

And here's a 3rd option-Chocolate Chip Cookie Hot Fudge Sundae - Two Scoops of Vanilla Ice Cream and two freshly baked Nestle Toll House Chocolate Chip cookies, topped with whipped cream, hot fudge, chocolate morsels and a cherry $5.79 with cookies on the side (and we already got the extra cup!). I don't like my cookies soggy anyway. Additional benefit if you just want to eat the ice cream you can save the cookies for later!:woohoo:

This time I didn't get the sauce on the side but was DD was able to have hers without too much hot fudge on it!

If we have lunch or dinner at DLR I really can't eat a 2 scoop sundae anyway. And how many times have you seen kids with their own sundaes who only eat a small portion and than the rest gets thrown away? Maybe it's different for us since we go so often, but I'm always looking for ways to save a little. Save the money for the important things-like souvenirs!

Isn't BrrBanks near Sunshine Plaza? The Pixar parade no longer goes through that area. It starts over by the pizza place on paradise pier and ends by the tortilla factory so those benches in Sunshine Plaza are no longer an option (for now, until Disney changes it again, lol). DCA has wider, more open paths though, so we were able to walk up about 30 minutes before it and get seats on a short wall near the tortilla factory with no problem. Parades seem to go smoother at DCA in my opinion. People in the first couple of rows tend to stay seated and it's not a big push to get a good place.

Oh, and to the OP, I would definitely take time to watch it. I think that and the now gone to WDW electrical parade are the best Disney parades that I have seen.

That Celebrate a Street Party thing is a big old waste of time/space/money. It just clogs up the already over crowded pathways in Disneyland. I can't wait until that fiasco is no more!

So BrrBanks isn't the place to watch it...

Man, now I'm craving that ice cream--awesome tips, thank you! My kids barely eat 1/2 of a cone each, so we could get 2 of those sundaes (likely the cookie one...yum) to share between all 4 of us. Looks so good!

I was thinking about the change in the parade route but wasn't sure. Sorry, I haven't watched a parade at DCA since EP left. I know they changed it during F&W but wasn't sure if it was still changed.

Personally I love CELEBRATE but my DNephew is in it!:cloud9:

Of course, you can still get the ice cream. Maybe while you watch CELEBRATE!

Oopps...didn't think about the parade route changing/shortening. I haven't been to the parks since Dec08/Jan09. We almost always watched the afternoon parades in the Sunshine plaza.

The best place to view Pixar is the area before & to the Golden Zypher. Even when the route is crowded, that is still the best place w/ the least amount of ppl.
