So I read ( many times) that you are put at a table, counter, bar etc with your group. You are told to not move or they will replace you.
ok, just how does that work? you have a table of 4 , one person decides to go walk around, they cant just stick another person in that one spot, so do they go tell that person to get back into their spot? or tell the whole group get your act together or you are all leaving?
btw, do they have a bathroom inside?

Oga’s is very small so there’s not much to walk around and see, you’ll be able to see the whole space, more or less, from where you’re standing/seated in the bar. I haven’t heard the rule about being replaced and we’ve been there a few times. If someone wants to mask up to go over take a quick picture of Rex I can’t imagine them kicking the whole group, but you can always double check when you check in.

No restrooms inside.

This was my experience from being a semi-regular at Oga’s in Disneyland pre-Covid:

Hosts/hostesses constantly walked around the room with a tablet looking for empty space. If they saw an empty space they would assign it to be filled. I saw this happen in several occasions when a larger party would split up to look around/take kids on a ride/do some shopping etc. They would be shocked when a new party was escorted in to join their space.

I have only been to Oga’s in Hollywood Studios once, and that was also pre-Covid. I would imagine that distancing has significantly changed how aggressively space is filled.

Back in February we were told to stay at our table, when we were ready to leave (paid up) then we could look around. Sort of a turn off, but I understand how popular it is. Really should have built it so they had 2 cantinas side by side.

We have been after the parks reopened. Since they aren't seating strangers together, and are really good at spacing out parties, they won't place a random person at your table if you get up right now. Now if your whole party leaves to wander, they will definitely clean your table to seat another group ASAP.

But really, there isn't much to walk around and look at - especially now, when the place is so deserted. You can see just about everything easily from your spot. It's quite small.

When we left, we put our masks on and I took a few pics of things we couldn't easily see from our table and left.

We had a wonderful experience and since I hate crowded places, I loved the half empty feel but I realize that is a lot of the charm of the design.

This is one reason we booked a 6:50pm ADR with a 7pm park close time. We shouldn't feel pressured to hurry up for another party after us and should be able to leisurely look around on our way out and take a few pics as well. Win/Win.

My experience from this last Thursday: They were VERY adamant that you were not allowed to wander around. You had to stay at your table/designated area or you could leave to use the restroom. I didn't try it so I don't know what would have happened if I had.

We were there two weeks ago during lunch time. We had to stay at our table. All tables were filled but no one was allowed to walk around. It actually didn't seem to crowded or crazy, but no one was wandering around. I enjoyed being there, though.

Are they still doing walk ups? I've not been able to get a reservation for next week and I've been trying for 2 months :(

I am happy about the change. Our last trip we shared a table with 3 couples. We were crammed around the table.

Having never been to Oga's before, NOT being packed in like sardines will be my preferred way to see it to be honest. I'm hardly OCD about crowds BUT I do like my personal space and I will opt for less crowded vs more crowded all things being equal.

We found Olga's a nice experience. We were placed at the bar and also told to stay put. Luckily we liked who we were placed next to. Basically, it's a cool experience, especially if a Star Wars officianto but I also felt it was a one and done.

I was there in Sept. 2020 and Oct. 2020. Both times we were put in our spot and told we could not walk around until we were finished. And we to be sure we were masked up before we moved from our spot.
That was fine. I liked the whole experience without crowds but I also enjoyed meeting new people who were put next to me in the pre-covid days too.
I imagine if I was in there solo, it wouldn't be as enjoyable nowadays since there wouldn't be anyone to chat with. LOL

We've been there twice. Looking forward to going back when it isn't as crowded. But, not really a lot to see if you walk around. The 2 sides of the bar are very similar.
