hi all! I just found this site last night and I think I'm already addicted! :hyper: We're planning a trip to WDW for April 26th - May 4th 2004. My hubby, our son (7) and I are so excited, we've been watching the disney vacation planning dvd non-stop! My husband is 28 and has never been to Disney, let alone to the state of Florida *gasp* and this will be my son's first trip also. I have only been to WDW once, when I was 11 so this is almost like my first time too since I don't remember half of that trip. We are traveling with my sister's family and my parents are coming also so we've rented a vacation villa offsite for the time we're there, instead of seperate hotels. We've already bought our plane tickets and will be purchasing our PHP passes pretty soon. I'm ecstatic, if you can't tell! lol

I just wanted to say hi and thank everyone for the great tips I've gotten so far and I look forward to getting to know everyone better!!

Well- let me be the first to tell you Welcome to the Dis boards. Hope you find lots of good info to help you out on your trip!

Welcome to the DIS!!! You'll get sooooooooooo much info from these boards. I thought I was a WDW expert until I found these boards.

I learn things daily from the people here - & yes, if you're not already, you will become addicted!!!

I would suggest you get a guidebook like the Passporter. You can get in on Amazon or the Passporter website. I got the deluxe edition which looks like a Franklin planner. Passporter is unique to the other guide books in that, it has great descriptions and rating for hotels, resort, rides etc as well as a way to organize all your stuff. The Unofficial Guidebook has great touring plans. You can check several guide books out at your local library, before you buy.

Welcome to the DisBoard!

I used this site so much for our last trip. The people here bring with them a wealth of knowledge that is invaluable. I have learned so much from them that I an eternally grateful.

When Disney Reps came to our base last week I think that I knew more then they did.

I also recommend the Passporter book. I got the regular edition and loved it.

Good luck on your trip to the World. The first is always so magical. :cool2:

Joe's free tips:

1) I like the Unofficial Guide myself, but I'm pretty irreverent so it's style fits me better. :cool2:

2) Since this is the "first time", take lots of pictures. If you're not into photography, do a quick seach on the net on how to take better pictures. Kodak used to have a good site...don't know if they still do.

A digicam is helpful since it brings the cost per photo way down, but even with a film camera, it's ultimately the least expensive souvinieer you'll want to use/see/enjoy 25 years from now.

3) Remember, you don't have to spend every living, breathing, waking moment with the family. :cool2:

Hope this helps,
Joe
