Wanting to go for * days *. I'm trying to look at all the different posts on this subject. Never having done this or heard much about it, I am confused. 2 adults & 2 kids (2 and under) Just wondering what doing it this way would cost us. Which places are cheaper? And who to go through? Thanks

Are you interested in renting points?

IF so, what it would cost you would vary by many factors? what a renter charges, typically $8-$12 per point depending on various factors. Also, what size of accommodations you want, studio, 1br, 2br? What type of view you want. Studios can be had for as little as 9 points per night (Old Key West) to 20 points per night for a MK view at BLT.

Whatever you decide you need to pick as you are well within the 11 month home booking advantage and depending on your dates of travel within or close to your 7 month window.

Give us some more info and we will all help!

Read the stickies at the top of the Rent / Trade Board, well worth

the time and important information regarding renting a DVC reservation.

Here's link to it

http://www.disboards.com/forumdisplay.php?s=&daysprune=30&f=29

Also click on link at upper right on this page DVC Points Charts to determine
when you'd likely travel, what resorts you'd consider staying at, size villa you'd like and calculate number of points you'd need to cover the stay.

Good luck with your planning :goodvibes

there is a link to the point charts for the different DVC resorts at the top of this page. http://www.wdwinfo.com/disney-vacation-club/DVCpoints.shtml

You should definitely read the [thread=1669863]Considering Renting from a DVC Member?[/thread] thread to learn more...

(i'd add that studios at DVC resorts - other than OKW - all have one queen bed and one pullout sofabed. OKW has 2 queens. probably doesn't matter with the ages of your kids but something to be aware of.)

BTW, timeshares like DVC typically book up much earlier than hotels, so you probably want to act soon to be sure to find availability...

Where not really sure. I don't want to spend a fortune. Just something nice that has room for all of us to be comfy in. I guess I would rent points.?? Like I said I'm new to this. I read the links and still confused. thanks

This post has been edited to remove some details so as not to be construed as a seeking rental post. Those details (such as points, villa size, dates etc) may only be posted on the DVC Rent/Trade Board. Thanks all...

just trying and get an idea of how much it costs to do this compared to going to POR or something. Nevermind. Thanks to all trying to help.

If you stay a week in May (seven nights) at POR the room only is $1339 standard view, $1536...

Beach Club Villas, studio, 123 points at average $10 = $1230

does that help? you get deluze with kitchenette of moderate hotel room (plus stormalong bay and walk in to epcot) for less...

sort of a no brainer isn't it
